lets do a roll call, how has covid

Fully vaccinated and boosted, of course. I got a mild case of Covid when our family got together for Thanksgiving, and a few of us came down with Covid. We were all vaccinated, and no one was seriously ill. I had an annoying cough for one day, and some fatigue, that was about it. But I was stuck in the house for 2 weeks, as I tested positive for a long time after I got over it.

I've had many colds that were worse than that. I was very grateful that I was protected by the vaccine.

Rather amusing, because if you were protected by the vaccine, you wouldn't have been able to get Covid. Nor would anyone else.
I wasn't protected by the vaccine, since I chose not to get it. I also had a mild case.
Miracle of miracles.......

Interesting that so many people that have double vaccinations and boosters are still getting the Chinese Virus? Does anyone else find that curious? Not aware of large numbers of people that have been vaccinated just once for pneumonia, smallpox, TB, or polio and subsequently coming down with the disease. A few, yes, but not like the masses that have been vaccinated and added a booster and still get the Chinese (Virus) Flu.
Because COVID is a man made virus made in a lab. It's not going to follow the rules of other more natural viruses.
Yes, they did have to rush to get some protection available, overall, I think it has been a benefit. Just like the flu vaccine, covid vaccines, IMO will require yearly checks and updates. Covid has proven it is as elusive as the flu virus, they both keep evolving and will have to adapt to the changes. With those two I will continue to boost and change as they do as I age.
Yes, I think COVID vaccines will need to be yearly now like the Flu shot because it keeps changing.
My father, MD student in that old country treated Small Pox patients, what little then medicines could do. TB, and whole bunch more. He himself got an initial cowpox vaccine.
I bet most of people here have had the various childhood diseases to get the immunity vs getting the vaccine. I remember weeks off from grade school. However, our son Never had a day of childhood illness.
My mother lost 4 siblings to 1918 influenza.
I myself had smallpox vaccine at birth, dad gave me another one in grade school - got scabby and another scratch in late grade school-very slight scab.
I've never gotten the small pox vaccine and that's why monkey pox made me nervous.
I've found that vaccinated people are often in denial of what they don't want to believe - that it's a useless vaccine.
They want to think they made the right decision; the smart decision.
I'm not vaccinated. I had Covid 3 weeks ago - also the "mild" case we're told we would get if we were vaccinated. It was no worse than a typical chest cold. 3 days of weakness & aching, & coughing for a few more days.
But I'll say this: If I chose to get vaccinated, I might say "my illness was mild due to the vaccine." Of course I'd be mistaken, but I'd have no way of knowing that. And the people who pushed the vaccines on us know that.
But that's your personal experience. COVID is not the same for everyone. For most people COVID will be no worse than the flu. The thing is, it's a roll of the dice on who will die from it and who will just have a chest cold. The vaccine cuts the risks down. To me, COVID is like Russian Roulette. The vaccine removes most of the bullets to to lower the chance of a person getting shot. If you choose not to get the vaccine, you still may come out okay, but it's a gamble. I myself prefer to do anything that wold increase my chances of survival. ;)
I am glad she is doing well, but I would argue that she may have done better without the inoculations. This is the first time that I am aware of that people with multiple inoculations still get the disease. Is it possible the shots actually weaken the immune system? Multiple athletes are dying. Vaccinated youngster are having issues, some are dying. It is just too weird in my opinion. I would not get another shot under any circumstances. And yes, I had the dreaded Chinese Virus, at least according to the government issued Chinese Test kit that showed a positive reading.
I think it's COVID that's weakening the immune system. Just about everyone has had COVID at some point, and I think COVID stays in the body dormant like chicken pox with shingles. I think COVID stays in the body and does things behind the scenes and that's what's responsible for sudden deaths. At this point it's impossible to separate those who were vaccinated and never had COVID from those who had COVID in the past but later got vaccinated. Especially since people can have COVID with no symptoms. Every single person who got vaccinated and died suddenly could have had COVID in the past and it stayed in their system wrecking havok till it caused their sudden death. That makes more sense to me than to think the vaccine did it. There's no way to prove it was the vaccine and not COVID staying in their body to kill them later.
I’ve tested positive for Covid three times and on each occasion it was just a sore throat and a runny nose.

I’m not sure where I picked it up from but it was whilst I was mid Chemo, so my immune system was compromised. On two of those occasions I was sent some big red tablets, not sure if they helped or not.

Incidentally I was three times vaccinated at that time, four jabs now.
I definitely think it was the vaccine that made the cases mild for you, especially since you were compromised at the time.

A lot of good posts in this thread. Yes, I am taking Quercetin because it helps zinc to be deeper in cells? or somehow makes it more bioavailable, I shall say, and got that from a renowned cardiologist.
I am taking D3, before covid not just now that I am, right now postitive for it.
My doc is one of the good ones, not employed by a higher authority nor is he intimidated by the liars that say such things do not work.....he put hubby and I on a five day regiment of hydroxycholoroquine, Azithromyacin? Z pack it's called, and a baby aspirin a day, plus the quercetin and NAC. I also take an elderberry and one emergenC envelope every morning.

Pfizer is indeed an evil corporate group.

Am guessing that these individuals that break the corporate secrets are letting loose when looking to impress potential sex partners.

Was in the last couple of years that Veritas got a couple Pfizer scientists to spill the beans when talking to a pretty girl at bars.

I have trusted in the vaccinations and had them when told. I got covid last year and it was not too bad and I was unwell for a week or so.

However, since then, I seem to be vulnerable to infections as never before and I believe my immune system is impaired. I never feel well for long before going down again. It really scares me.

Yet again today I feel a sore throat and familiar fatigue and I just know I am in for a nasty time again. The added worry is the difficulty in getting help from the GP surgery as it is so hard to even get through on the phone.
So I don't know who to trust any more really.

I had a bad case early on before the medics really knew what they were doing. (Early April 2020)

I was very poorly for a month - including a couple of weeks in hospital one which I have no memory of. I was lucky to survive - and was the first to do so in my area. The resulting "clapped out of hospital" video went as far as regional news I think. It took a lot of time and a lot of physio and counselling to get me back into something resembling a stable person.

Now in Jan 2023 I still have issues following it. I'm ok - but will never be what I was before. I'm thankful to have made it when so many didn't.

What have I done differently since? It focused me on what is important in life. Your health and your family. Everything else is gravy. As a result my wife and I retired early and we moved home to be closer to my old Mum and our likkle Grandson. We don't regret a single day.
You are so courageous, what a nightmare you endured.

Covid had little impact on my personal day to day routine. I'm isolated anyway. It did worry me and I understood it was always thought a pandemic was going to happen. All the deaths were concerning. I'm an essential worker so work continued but being exposed at work wasn't great. I missed the thrift stores being open at the beginning. Our little shop downtown was closed for 1 1/2 years.

After people stopped hoarding food and toilet paper, I didn't worry about that. On the childhood abuse forum I go to, a lot of people commented that covid lockdowns were just like childhood. I got that. I felt bad for young people and how it could have impacted me more if this had happened to me when I was much younger.

I've thought about that, too.

For children growing up in healthy environments with well educated parents, having to be homeschooled or using online classes might not have been ideal for them, and they no doubt would have preferred being in school with their friends, but they probably learned what they needed to learn to avoid being left behind in life.

But for the kids with abusive, stupid parents, they were totally screwed. Many of them probably won't graduate from high school, or at least not with their age group. They're not going to be able to find decent jobs and many will resort to crime or wind up on welfare.

2 weeks ago,felt like a bad cold,achy,very fatigued, runny nose,cough,sore throat,no fever.
Home test was positive, video visit with my doctor, got the generic Paxlovid,2 days later tested negative.
2 shots,2 boosters,no masks for awhile.
Pre-diabetic,68 years old,chubby.
My kids and significant others all had it.
Doctor said Covid 2020 stayed on surfaces, this variant is airborne.

Thanks for your post. I can't even imagine how my mother would have reacted with covid had she been alive. I use common sense hand washing but she could be nuts about stuff like that.

I remember one blip someone stated on CNN about what kids from abusive homes might go through due to the lock downs. But that was about it. The nice man who lives behind me isn't a teacher but works in the school system. He said some kids did better than others with the distance learning. But for his class, they passed them all because they all seemed to make an effort.

My husband & I both came down with it in early October 2022 just one day apart. I had a fever, was very fatigued (but not sleepy), had a sore throat for one day, & he lost taste for just a couple days. I ended up being off work for 2 weeks because I was so weak. I had been working the entire pandemic & our company did not mandate any mask wearing. Some people came down with Covid, but I managed to escape it until then. Husband is vaccinated & boosted, but I am not. I had it a little worse than he, but I'm type 2 diabetic & also a bit of a baby when sick. LOL! I think I caught it when I had gone out with 3 friends three days prior. We had a fun day of afternoon tea & a lot of shopping. I think my guard was down as I didn't wear a mask at all (but I had not been wearing one for some time), but I did not use a hand sanitizer at all that day & I usually would when I would get back in the car. None of the friends that I was with came down with it.

Given that your friends didn't contract Covid , do you think you may have got it from touching surfaces ?

yes many schools did that here in the UK at the height of the Pandemic...

well tbh regardless of Covid, children with abusive parents, whether stupid or not.. will rarely ever get to stay on at school to gain qualifications in anything.. as happened to me when I was a kid.. and to my siblings!

We were expected to leave school the very day we were legal age, which was just 15 back then 16 now.... leaving with just a GCE ( general certificate of Education) which opened the doors to just blue collar work.. mainly manual labour or retail or office work

We certainly didn't resort to crime.. we took the jobs available to us..( in my case I began in an office environment).. then worked my way up through life and employment with experience and further education as an adult until I achieved a good standard of living ..

There was no Dole or unemployment benefits for us as youngsters if we didn't work and pay into the system first .. so that in itself was an incentive to work.. but today some.. people leave school, without qualifications of any type and immediately register for unemployment, and get paid Tax payers money to stay at home.. or commit crime.. .. and never work a day in their lives..

I have not had it yet. I am fully vaccinated but I am still following covid guidelines. I went to the doctor today, orthopedist, but a very busy practice. Most patients are older or young people active in sports. Of about 30 people waiting they were only three wearing masks, including me. There is also a very active stomach virus going around. I don't want either one.

I don't know if I've had it yet. I've been sick a few times but never got tested. I just chalked it up to the flu and allergies and sinus problems.

I don't think we have that general certificate in the U. S.. You can get your GED equivalent later in life for high school graduation if you didn't graduate from high school.

But yes, abusive parents often don't care about their children's future. Not everyone needs a high education to make a good living. But college was never even suggested to us kids. I ended up getting a job dong dishes after working at the cannery. That's what I thought my worth was. I was also put in classes for slow learners which I am not. I'm plain average. I see now that suited my mother just fine. As a borderline, she didn't want me to excel and move on. They want to keep their kids trapped.

yes here in the UK at least when I was at school I don't know about now.. as long as you pass your exams at minimum age.. now 16.. you get a GCE certificate with whatever exams you've passed written on it. In my case it was Maths, English, Business economics ( which included typing) , Geography & History... it didn't matter if you scored 100 % or 50 % , the leaving certificate was the same... unlike higher education certification..
