Like a lot of people on this forum, I was born in a time before mobile phones, "smart" devices etc. and strange as it may seem, I got by without them. I spent many years working with technology that I viewed as useful tools to do various tasks. Now I fear that technology has taken over and like fire, it is a good servant, but a bad master. I do without it as far as possible. I have a basic phone and a laptop.
I don't count steps, calories, units of alcohol, fruit & veg , liquids I consume etc.. I just try to stay active and eat sensibly. As for having a route that you can walk regularly - that quickly becomes boring. I try to find a good variety of walks, and I've no real idea how long they are.
