How many steps a day do you do?

Excellent 👍. I do yoga, but unable to do anything more strenuous without an accident.🥴
@GAlady , @Pecos I love Yoga, I also practice and teach Taichi, which has many benefits like Yoga without getting down on the mat.
Balance takes practice, for me alot of practice. My wife's balance has improved noticably since she's joined me in attending the Active Aging class at the gym.

I should have another "go" at Taiichi. Years ago, I used a video tape for a while but found it to be boring. Are you aware of a DVD that I might try?
Yes, many come to mind, in addition to tons of Youtube videos.
Don Fiore has many free Youtube videos, and also sells DVDs on his website.

Another wonderful Taichi/Qigong teacher is Jessica Kolbe who also has many free Youtube videos, as well as DVDs for sale. I trained with Jessica 4 years ago, through the Healer Within Foundation.

I use to practice tai chi but found it "boring" as well.

Recently decided to resume tai chi/chi gong and was surprise that I can call up my CHI (I am sure Nathan will be aware of the "chi" - aka energy?)
I love to hear of people practicing Taichi / Qigong, such good physical and mental conditioning!

Thanks, I will take a look at these. Over the years I have updated my workout ideas several times. It may be time for another update.

I have a tracker on my phone that just records my miles while I'm hiking. I had a pedometer one time, and I tested it on a known mile with hills, I was horribly inconsistent. It may have not been the best. It was free as a bonus gift for something else I bought. Pedometers are old technology, from long before anyone had even thought of GPS. I used to work on trail construction for the Forest Service. We used a single bicycle wheel with an odometer attached to a handle that we pushed up and down trails to get accurate trail measurements. We called it a "tally whacker." That may be the actual name of the device, or maybe that was just what our crew called it.

what?.. you walk up 14floors ?...wow! Hats off to you.. I couldn't do that, altho' I have 14 stairs in my house, and I'm up and down them all day long, my knee really hurts,, so I would never be able to manage 14 flights of stairs all at once..
LOL, I don't do all 14 at once, they get spaced out over the day as I move about. My iPhone is typically in my pocket, and it keeps track of the trips I make up and down the stairs. I am pretty certain that I could climb 14 flights of stairs all at once if I needed to.

After the local gym closed in 2020 myself and my 2 favorite Yoga + fitness trainers/friends formed a fitness company, for a year and a half we did live in-person classes and streamed live video to Facebook and Youtube. We ceased operations in Nov. 2021 when our CEO completed her master's in clinical psychology, and moved out of state to take a job.
But we still have our videos on Youtube...Labor of Love on Youtube.

OH I see... so you probably climb the stairs as I do.. up and down about 30 times a day... for me..:D

No! Actually maybe a step counter is a good idea. I don’t know how far I walk and I doubt it’s 2 - 3 miles a day. I know I used to walk about 3 miles an hour but I’ve slowed down a lot. My average walk is about 45 minutes which might be, at best, 2 kilometres. I have a weight bench with 1 to 3 pounds hand weights which I keep telling myself I’m going to do but the odd time I use them, I burn myself out. The punching bag is new and experimental for my batwing arms.
About once a week I go for a longer walk on flatter grounds but I have to drive 30 minutes to get there.

I don't have a clue, don't have a cell or a pedometer. I know if I take a walk around the neighbor hood, the circuit around the school is 1/4 of a mile. The same is available at our local city center and the mall. I can drive to the civic center or the mall in 5 minutes or less. The mall is closer. The great thing is both are available in any kind of weather.

Like a lot of people on this forum, I was born in a time before mobile phones, "smart" devices etc. and strange as it may seem, I got by without them. I spent many years working with technology that I viewed as useful tools to do various tasks. Now I fear that technology has taken over and like fire, it is a good servant, but a bad master. I do without it as far as possible. I have a basic phone and a laptop.
I don't count steps, calories, units of alcohol, fruit & veg , liquids I consume etc.. I just try to stay active and eat sensibly. As for having a route that you can walk regularly - that quickly becomes boring. I try to find a good variety of walks, and I've no real idea how long they are.
