Topless Pools

Berlin, Germany just announced that public pools will allow females to go topless.

On my trip to the island of Crete, I encountered that most beaches allowed topless for females.
The hotel we stayed at was on the beach and even the hotel pool allowed females to go topless.

I'm not a prude, but it was still unsettling for us from the U.S. who may not be used to it.

Over the years and all my travels, I try not to make a judgement about Countries I do not live in, but only visiting...

I think Europeans are more used to that kind of thing.

Did you know that it has been legal for women to go topless in the province of Ontario for about 30 years? I lived in Ontario for most of my life, including many years in Guelph. But I have never, ever, seen a woman go topless in Ontario, except at a privately owned nude beach.

My wife and I were naturists for 11 years when we were in our 50’s. We received a certificate for a free visit and really enjoyed it. After that day, they didn’t have to sell us on the idea. We bought a casita and a membership and got our use out of it. We had to fly down to Tampa, but we spent a lot of weekends down there. I was flying four days a week and spending three days in Tampa. We wished we had found it 20 years earlier. We also spent a week in Palm Springs at another naturist facility.

I've never been to a beach where topless bathing isn't allowed.. and I've been to literally hundreds of beaches..

We were on a beach down in Naples, Florida. Beside us were three couples just hanging out, having some drinks, playing their music and sitting under a canopy. The guys decided to take their paddle boards out into the Gulf of Mexico and the girls were going to sunbathe.

They saw our sticker on our cooler, which tells the name of the Naturist Resort we belonged to. They started asking questions about it and then one of the girls said that she thought they could get away with it there. She took her top off and I am guessing the lifeguard called the beach patrol, but whatever, they showed up, threw a blanket over her and arrested her and took her to where, I didn’t know.

The other two girls were trying to get the guys attention to come in. After about 20 minutes, the one guy came in and they talked for just a few minutes and the next thing I knew, they got their stuff together and left. I guess they were heading to the beach patrol station at the end of the beach. After that, I don’t how it ended.

I kind of felt bad for them because they were very polite and considerate by asking us if their radio was too loud and offering us drinks. The girl the took her top off laid down and wasn’t showing off or anything and no one seemed to be distracted by her, so I don’t know what the problem was.

BTW, there were no posted signs about going topless. We looked when we left and the only sign we saw was “No Dogs Permitted On Beach.”

I never cared for it, honestly. It does not leave anything for your imagination.
Having worked in the radiation field, I do know that the sun's rays can be harmful to exposed skin over time (melanoma).
I have never swam or sunbathed topless, it doesn't interest me for myself.. but I'm not against other people doing it.. their body... however I wouldn't want to see nudists.. if I did, I'd go to a nudist beach.. but I don't want them on a public beach..

It would be unsettling for me too, but I could learn to live with it.

Just because you go topless doesn't mean you have to bake yourself in the sun. A hat, sunscreen, and shade from trees or an umbrella go a long way toward protecting the delicate epidermis. ;)

Wondering if Canada would allow it... No, seriously Lorie and I stayed at a topless Resort in the Dominican a few years back...And, Yes, My eyes were everywhere the 1st few days, but after that I hardly noticed...It was mostly Europeans But... I wouldn't mind trying again...

I accidentally got topless once at a beach in Haifa when a wave smacked my bikini top down. I think I noticed boys looking at me before I noticed the top had been washed down. Having grown up in midwest I had no idea how strong and obnoxious waves were. I don't like the ocean!

I have swum nude in semi-private situations (e.g., too far for anyone to see unless they were really looking). Also at a nude beach. Not to show off, but because wet bathing suits are yucky!

Exactly. A wet suit is yucky in or out of the water.

I’m not sure where I’ve swum which was officially topless but we have never worn clothing to swim in lakes, streams or rivers where we hiked or camped.

At home after years of hot tubbing without an annoying swimsuit while my wife wore one I am happy to report that now at 80 she has seen the light.
