Hey, how's it going today for you? It's 2023. An alternate thread for different people.

That's wonderful that you are able to do a lot of your own repairs. I do a few of my own even though we have maintenance here. I fixed the 🚽 toilet chain with an ornament hanger 😂 It's still working since I fixed it over a year ago.

Lily sure is doing well to live that long and with Cancer yet. Does she like to play still? Suzy doesn't play much. She likes to nap out mostly or stare at me😂

Yes being positive is a great attribute. I try to be but also fight depression a lot. I have that Seasonal Affective Disorder. It's a pain in the butt, especially during the Winter. I just try to get something done each day. I took the garbage out and cleaned one of Suzy's ears today. Gave Jasmine her Millet treat. She loves it. I did a few other things too. I cheer myself up as I get things done.

I hope you are getting your repairs done smoothly.
I am able to do the vast majority of repair jobs around here and have most of the tools that I need. Like most people these days, I have had to give up on working on modern cars. I remember the fun that my brothers and I had working on our cars back in the old carburetor days. The price of repair parts can be astonishing. Most recently, I was going to replace the end-of-cycle switch on our dryer when I learned that the price of that switch was 50% of the cost of buying a new dryer. I refused to go there, and now we use the timer on our iPhone to tell us when to turn the dryer off.

Lilly still gets pretty playful at times, especially late in the evenings. Overall, she sleeps a lot and doesn't eat quite as much as she used to. She still goes to the park and walks about 1.5 miles every day.

To one degree or another, I suspect that most of us are affected when the weather is overcast, and we don't get as much sunlight. Staying positive can be rather tricky and I have several friends who are seriously affected by the weather and struggle with depression.

LOL, I have gotten pretty adept at recognizing when I need help with a repair job. I don't crawl under the house on my belly anymore, and I stay off the roof.

Have a good day my friend and I hope that your area starts to warm up pretty soon.

Wondering where everyone went to who were posting here. Maybe no one has anything to say. I get my share of days like that too.

I got Aldi's delivery today. Afterwards I realized what I forgot to buy 🤣. I may go shopping tonight or tomorrow.

Listened to some Spotify music 🎶. I was able to connect to my account using a code they gave me. They have really upgraded Spotify TV app.

Still haven't done anything about my computer. I'm debating whether to get mine fixed if it's fixable or get another refurbished one. I may get a better one but not sure yet.

Nothing much new but it did snow ❄️ today and looks beautiful out there.

I am still here, nothing exciting to say. I have taken a shower, put a load of laundry in. I just hate laundry. I have about 3 loads to get done. It is the folding, hanging and putting away. I don't know why I fuss, I haven't done any in 2 weeks.

Once I get my hair dried, dressed, I am going out for a few errands. Today is the grocery, gas station and pharmacy. Speaking of Aldi, have you tried their red bag chicken. I bought a bag last week but have not tried it yet but it has received good reviews online.

Hey, Ruthie 🙂, as Blessed said, I haven't posted because there's not much to say. Things are pretty quiet here on the eastern front. I was going to go grocery shopping today, but the weather is crappy, cold, and raining, so I changed my mind. I don't like schlepping around in foul weather unless I have to. Tomorrow it's supposed to be even colder, and snow is forecast, so maybe I'll venture out on Wednesday. I'll see. 🤔

So, I stayed in today and cooked up a storm instead. First, I made some chocolate pudding to have for dessert later tonight. Then I made basmati rice and a yellow squash casserole. My girlfriend called, I poured myself a drink, chatted with her, and then I made chicken breasts in a white wine sauce.

Tonight I'm going to start watching "The Company You Keep", a new series starring Milo Ventimiglia, and eat chocolate pudding. 😋 And there you have it—another exciting day with Bella at home. 🙃🙂

Doing laundry doesn't bother me, and while I don't really mind ironing my own clothes, it is task that I tend to postpone over and over again. Eventually, I have to decide if I am ready to wear wrinkled Kakis out in public. I wash sheets every 8 days and wash dark clothes when the hamper starts screaming "overload."

I am not even sure if I have an iron anymore LOL. I buy only things that are wash and wear. I have a few nice outfits that go to the dry cleaner when needed. Have not been there in 3 years. I know it is time to do laundry when I run out of clean clothes. I will say most days I just wear pajamas or sweats in the house. I only go out once or twice a week. I try to group errands and have it all done on the same day.

The big excitement is the son is coming tomorrow to do the spring clean up on the yard. I am glad, the neighbors have done theirs and must be cursing my name.

Oh yeah, car parts prices are ridiculous. Parts for most things now a days are crazy 😧. I think using a timer is a great idea rather than spend a ton on a part.

Most older dogs like to nap a lot I believe. Once in awhile I will get Suzy to charge around the dining room and living room. She is so cute when she does that! She loves her treats too. I bet your dogs do too!

I try to get clothes that don't need ironing too. My iron is tucked away in my closet. I haven't used it in years.

I too wear PJs or sweats every day unless there is a reason not to. They're so comfy!

I hope you and your son have a nice time together tomorrow ☺️

We had a cold snowy day but it looks very pretty. The food you made sounds delicious! The Company You Keep sure sounds familiar. I'm wondering if I've seen it yet.

I hope you have a great night!

@Ruthanne, I am sure he and I will not spend time of any sort together. He will be out in the yard, it is a mess. There are loads of leaves and branches to deal with. The shrubs needed to be cut back, then he will mow and edge the yard. I will be in the house, keeping the dogs out of the way and fetching drinks. By the time he is done he will be exhausted. So, I will get a hug and kiss and send him home to his family. That will be the hard work of my day, sending him home.

The spring clean up is a lot of hard work. I asked him if he would like me to hire a service to come to do it. He said no, that it is his job now to take care of me. That is the only reason I look forward to spring and summer. I see him a lot more often. When it is normal yard day, he brings a change of clothes, takes a shower here and then we go out for a late lunch.

Oh yes, my dogs love their treats. Especially the pre-bedtime treat.

What treats do you give? I am for the most part a good dog mom, they get raw carrots, green beans. But, if they are out barking and I need them to stop and come in, I bring out the big guns. That would be a piece of cheese, a pork rind, or a cheeto. Works like a charm. My little girl, a chiweenie has figured this out. She will go scratch the bag door like she needs to potty. No sooner than I let her out and close the door she starts barking. I open the door to her just standing on the patio, not even on the grass. Just one word, "TREAT" and she flies back on those great big ears on a tiny body.

I don't particularly like doing laundry anymore but feel good once it's done. I have 3 sets of sheets to wash in my one laundry bag. They are the ones I'm going to clean next. I have more sheets to wash in another laundry bag...me and my sheet buying! I do the same with dark clothes but try not to let them go for too long because the laundry bag gets too heavy to carry to the basement. I loaded my laundry card so I can get a lot washed. I put 40.00 on it.

I think I'm going to wash those sheets this morning.

Dried sweet potato, turkey breast, leftover steak. There are a few commercial ones like Plato duck treats and buddy jacks Turkey.
It sounds like your dog has you figured out, so do ours.

@Pecos, they not only have me figured out but I would say the rule the house. I have three, they all have different personalities, wants and needs. I count myself lucky they have not thrown me out. I can't give treats that they don't eat right away. If it is any kind of chewy type product they will fuss and fight. They are not happy to have their own, they each want the others as well. The strange part is the two little ones think they want the big ones treat. He never fights back, or barks at them, he gets the short end of the stick around here.

Got quite a bit done today. Went grocery shopping and spent about 38.00. Washed 3 sets of sheets, folded them and put them away. Went to the bank with my dog and a gentleman there was petting her and spoke to her. He has a dog too. The lady there thought she is so cute 🥰

Rearranged the living room furniture and vacuumed and put Old English Oil on the end tables. I still have to do the coffee table. Shouldn't take long.

I'm going to vacuum more, the bird feathers under and behind things. I'll be glad when that's done, too.

I also moved the Christmas 🎄 tree to the corner. It's too hard to take all the lights off now but I did take the ornaments off.

Just sprinkled some carpet fresh and it's smelling better in here. Soon to be vacuumed up.

Making cheese turkey burgers and salad 🥗 for dinner.

I was very happy to have this burst of energy today.☺️

Right side hip bitchin for the past three days. Left was done previously, so every odd time the right flares for a week. Sometimes leg collapses, years ago pinched sciatic.

Trash emptied, cooked all chicken yesterday. So tonight it's chicken, chili and fresca. I couldn't get eggs or buttermilk before as they were doing the floor.

No cornbread and chili....😭😭😭

Just found out that guy I'm feeding at times. Well, someone stole his car, though it's not tagged, and his license was suspended, he got around a lot.

The cops would stop him, realize he's not going to have a valid license or car tagged and so, they let him go. Now, he's got to use bus.

Sorry you weren't able to get the eggs and milk. Next time get an employee of the store to go get them if they are blocking you to get things. I have done it on more than one occasion.

Still sounds like that you will have a good dinner. Stay warm!!

I didn't get much done today, not nearly as much as I wanted. Went to lunch and had a BBQ beef brisket sandwich. It's been awhile since I had that and it didn't seem as good as used to be but I think it's just me. I find my tastes changing all the time and there are a lot of foods that I used to like that just don't seem a good now.

On the topic of irons, I've always ironed my clothes but as permanent press got better, I mostly just ironed dressy things. Since the pandemic I haven't used the iron because I don't really dress up any more. I have a full sized ironing board and full sized iron. That's 2 things that won't be going with me if I move into smaller quarters. I may have a travel iron somewhere.

had a drive to cornwall, ....through devon, then back through cornwall then back into devon lol in 30 mins ....
well your not confused , you should be ... 🤣 as i am 🤣 i need a lie down now ..🤪
Oh, don't worry. I'm confused but it sounded fun the way you told it! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Hi charry, what is Waitrose? I've never heard that before.

Have had very warm weather up to today, but will be getting caught into the cold front heading east ... expecting a cold and rainy weekend on the Texas Coast.
That's okay, because rain is needed, and above normal temperatures in March isn't a good thing.

Question for @Pecos .... how old is your bichon Lilly? ... asking because I think my Lil'Bear is about the same age?
He's going on 14 yrs., and is showing signs of old age, both mentally and physically.
He still seems to have his energy when he goes outside, but his eating habits have changed ... he eats very little most days. He's lost some weight.
