I was going to reference the same photographer! Wonderful photo!Great picture!! And that's an understatement, as good as any Ansel Adams!
Nikon 500mm PFMagnificent. Which lens did you use to get this?
Stunning. Reminds me of the whitecaps I saw so often while I was growing up across the street from the sea. For a moment, I was home again in the best possible way. Thankyou for that.Low cloud over the Lakeland Fells of Dow Cragg and Coniston Old Man across Morecambe Bay this afternoon. About 25 miles away.

Looks like an impressive lens. Do you primarily use prime lenses, or do you exclusively use them?
I remember meeting David Yarrow at The Photography Show (NEC) a few years ago, and he mentioned that he only uses Nikon/Nikkor prime lenses. He even claimed that he could easily spot when a photographer used a zoom lens, even if they used a high-end model.
Yarrow showcased some incredible photos, including a shot of a herd of elephants staring directly at the camera. Another was of a herd of cattle in South Sudan, where he used a ladder to take the photo from a high vantage point. He said the herdsmen were fascinated by this marvel of engineering, a ladder.
Another photo that stuck in my mind for some reason was one of a naked woman with a tiger close by. David Yarrow showed us a wider shot of the scene, with a large cage close by for the woman to run into, should the lion start to feel hungry.
I use whatever gives me the results that I want, from what I can afford, for the type of photography I'm doing. That means both prime and zoom lenses. Either Nikkon or Fujifilm depending on which system I'm using.
Most options covered thereSounds like the perfect formula.
At the moment I just have 3 lenses on Canon bodies.
Tamron SP (USD) 24-70 f2.8
Tamron SP (USD) 70-200 f2.8
Sigma DG HMS 24-105 f4 (I use this when I don't feel like carrying the other two)
I've sold my older lenses. Was thinking of buying a Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 (or f4) next.
Thanks - it's a mountain.Love this moody black and white! I don't know what the Old Man is, but I see some other figures. You got the swirls and spirals beautifully, too. Thanks!
It’s the one on the right but the top is hidden by cloudsHaha, I know it's a mountain, just wondering which one of the shapes I see is The Old Man. Maybe it's the whole mountain. You don't have to answer, it may spoil my visual delusions. Just kidding.
Here's a shot without the snow and clouds. Left to right - Dow Crag, Scafell Pike (Highest in England) and Coniston Old Man.Oh, thank you very much.
I wonder how it feels to wake up to that every day .. breath-taking!
