What have you bought recently?

@hollydolly No, no, silly girl! A mannequin is a pretend human like you see in a shop to display garments. A dress form is what a seamstress uses to fit clothes she's making for a customer. A dress form can be made larger or smaller or shorter or taller, depending on the size and shape of the customer.

I just looked. You can buy a dress form for cheap on Amazon. You can buy a mannequin for cheap on Amazon, too.

Oh...and a mannequin has arms and legs along with the rest of the body. A dress form is just shoulders to hips with no arms and legs.

I ordered my 3 qt saucepan and an ottoman cover. A few years ago my office faux leather chair started shedding faux leather bits. I ordered a cover that fit nicely so as soon as the ottoman started to shed, I looked and found a matching cover to the chair. They are both textured black. I had no idea they would sell them for ottomans.

too much, we needed a fridge, couple months back, new tires on truck last month, ordered new oven today and next month new glasses for wife. Oh ya, and a new computer last week, so I can play on here. now back to saving up for the next go a around

yes I know what a mannequin is which is why I said a ''Mannequin Torso'' in my original post... ergo a Tailors dummy...

It often all seems to come at once doesn't it ?.. however you can breathe a sigh of relief that you probably won't have to spend much for a while now

My finger was on the buy for an online purchase for new designer brand sheets. Half price. Then I noticed the reviews. Not many; all really negative. They’re still sitting in my outbox.

Although I said I wasn’t going to buy anything at the 21 days of beauty at Ulta I did.
I bought blush..I don’t wear blush and I don’t even wear make up anymore. I also bought tinted lip balm, that I might wear.
I‘ll save the blush for December 16 when I will be grandmother of the groom.😀
Im already dreading looking for a dress..and shoes. Ugh!
I feel you, CeeCee. Make-up is like toys to me. I just see the aisle at CVS and my eyes light up.

I use blush and all the rest when I dress up, but that's only a few times a year these days, so it lasts for a decade or two and I don't get to buy it very often.:(

Went out with DD to run an errand and to fetch some groceries for DGD from Aldi.

I didn't spend any money.

However, I'm gonna spend some tomorrow on a Lowe's gift card at work because the store is giving 4x fuel points.

I'm going to Home Depot and Lowe's garden centers on Wednesday afternoon because I'm off on Thursday. It's going to be warm and sunny on Thursday so I can plant flowers.

Not to worry. I will be carefully supervised at both garden centers. DD will be with me ;)

Lucky Georgia gal! We can't plant in Ohio until about May tenth -- which just happens to be around Mother's Day!

For the past ten years my son has taken me to the garden center to pick out whatever I want for my Mother's Day present and then we go home and he plants it all for me while I supervise.

Went to the store to see if I could find any of those sheets I‘d been thinking of buying. Found some. I’d like the dark blue, except there were no pillowcases. They’re trying to order them for me. The staff were really helpful. Just in case, I bought a set of the pale blue. I’m still debating the quality.

Then I went grocery shopping. $60 for one little bag full. There was some meat so that explains the cost.

I feel ya', Ronald. We've hired a handyman do some work. No more ladders for DH - I put my foot down after he fell a couple of years ago. No injury other than bruising, but it could have been a lot worse.

Our guy will build, stain and install a couple of solid wood 6' X 4' side gates, put up another outdoor security light, add some lighting to our kitchen, replace some 1950s era fluorescent lighting that's hidden in a soffit with LED lighting, and take care of some other pressing fix-its. $2800 parts and labor, excluding the ceiling fan which we already purchased.

Last month we paid to have our son & DIL's pool fenced off to keep their baby safe. $3600. Worth every penny. Sad to say, I know someone whose baby granddaughter got outside during a party when nobody was watching closely and drowned in their pool.

Since we insisted on paying for it, we could likewise insist that it get done. DH supervised the work. (We had our own pool fenced off when we moved in 38 years ago.)

Usually big ticket items are few and far between for us but this spring is shaping up to be an aberration.

Explains why we're still working...
