What do you think of trees?

"Ever eat a pine tree? Many parts are edible." Ewell Gibbons (remember that ad?)
I just had some Canadian tea that has pine needles in it and the scent reminds me of going to Apple Hill near Placerville CA.
I love trees, by the way! I wish there were more.
Roasted pine nuts are tasty...

I'm rather fond of them. The world wouldn't be a very pleasant place without trees but I couldn't be considered a tree hugger. They are here for our use.

My house is on a small lot but has 3 large Pines, 2 Aspens, 2 apple trees, a white flowering tree (not sure of the variety) and a lot of assorted bushes including Lilacs. They all got a major trim job last year and a third Aspen had to be cut down. The other 2 Aspens may have to go this year as they are not doing well.

Ohhhhh. Please, may we see pictures of your paradise? 😊
This was taken in 2021 , I seem to be hit by pest each year , the trees are at the Back , theres the Red acer in the left corner , I took that out last year cause it was to big for that spot . The Cloud one is a Ceanocus that I trim each year into clouds , next to it is the Eucalyptus Ive trimed that into a tree and is standing about 10ft now . the back middle lime green is another acer , which I took out also cause it was crowding the tree next to it .
The Acers are not in leaf at the moment so when they do i will take another photo

Crepe Myrtles are one of my favorites!

I love trees. However, I grew to hate the fruit trees in my last backyard. In the 9 years we lived there the fruit was rarely decent and the trees dropped fruit on my patio and yard and it was a daily mess for me to clean up. My husband never helped but wouldn’t let me cut any of them down. I really started to hate those trees. Now they are someone else’s problem.

Amelia, you mentioned Apple Hill and Placerville and it’s such a gorgeous place. We used to go there every fall.

I never liked the house I owned. It did have a number of fruit trees the retired people who owned it planted. Apple, cherry, peach, lemon. One year a branch broke from all the apples so I went out and knocked a bunch off the branches. The birds loved the cherries. I never ate any of the fruit. The trees were against the fence where that jerk lived that harassed me.

Our father used to take us for drives in forested areas, past countless trees. We didn't appreciate it. I love trees now though.

The Tule Tree is a Montezuma cypress near Oaxaca, Mexico. It's the largest-circumference tree in the world. Seeing it for the first time was mind blowing. Yes, it's been determined that it's a single organism.
