Yes, I believe they're a warmer weather tree.I think they grow in the south, is that right, Hearlady? I love flowering bushes and trees but I don't think Crepe Myrtles do well at high elevation and where it gets severely cold. Even our lilacs freeze in the bud some years.
aww, blissful nature ; )View attachment 274825Love my trees, and the critters that live in them.
cute photo!
The more modern version............."I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree."
Same here. All sides of our Ozark property is surrounded by tree's.I like trees...we have hundreds...maybe thousands....on our acreage. They form a nice habitat for the critters and birds, which make great "neighbors", and an endless supply of firewood to feed our outdoor wood furnace...which keeps our Winter heating bills moderate.

I know it's ancient but I love that poem and song ... by Joyce Kilmer.... here it is sung by Mario Lanza.."I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree."
Did you know that in the UK it's illegal to erect Billboards along the sides of the roads..?The more modern version.............
I think that I shall never see
a billboard lovely as a tree
perhaps unless the billboards fall
I'll never see a tree at all.
Sad that only 4 states here have banned billboards. Vermont, Alaska, Hawaii, and Maine.Did you know that in the UK it's illegal to erect Billboards along the sides of the roads..?
Very true @Remy it has happened a lot here recentlly…houses have been crushed, people hurt and power outages for days because of trees falling on power lines.I love trees!
Though in the past years they are giving me anxiety. First many died due to the drought and fires. Then I keep hearing about trees landing on houses, cars, people with the recent storms. Anxiety and worry. Feel bad for those people.
