What do you think of trees?

I love trees. 2 oak trees came with the house. Since moving here (40 years ago), a GINKO and a flowering plum (with pink blooms in the spring) were planted on the western edge of the property.

I am NOT a fan of grass/lawn and dug up the front lawn 25 years ago and planted "mostly" blue periennials. More and more home owners have done the same - some front gardens have vegetables as well as periennials and annuals - much more interesting than a lawn.

Previously in Vancouver, many NEW Canadians cut down trees on their newly acquired properties. The result was tree removal on any properties now require a permit.

I love trees... all the trees in my garden except the horrors of a holly tree in my garden..I hate that thing...but because it's alive I can't bring myself to cut it down..

I live right next to huge woodland .. and forest of trees...

I like trees...we have hundreds...maybe thousands....on our acreage. They form a nice habitat for the critters and birds, which make great "neighbors", and an endless supply of firewood to feed our outdoor wood furnace...which keeps our Winter heating bills moderate.
Same here. All sides of our Ozark property is surrounded by tree's. (y) (you know, maybe I should build another house there).

I think trees are fine - in a forest, not in a neighborhood.
I've had to spend $9,000.00 removing trees in my back yard that were a hazard to my neighbors.
One tree in my yard was on a slope, pointed towards my neighbor on my left. They often have grand kids in their swimming pool & this tree was tall enough to easily cover their whole yard if it fell.
A few weeks after I had it removed, the news reported 2 kids were killed in their bedrooms by a tree that fell on their house & it wasn't windy or raining at the time.

I love trees!

Though in the past years they are giving me anxiety. First many died due to the drought and fires. Then I keep hearing about trees landing on houses, cars, people with the recent storms. Anxiety and worry. Feel bad for those people.
Very true @Remy it has happened a lot here recentlly…houses have been crushed, people hurt and power outages for days because of trees falling on power lines.
