Another Booster

I am nowhere near 75, but I don't care how many boosters they put out, I am not doing anymore than what I have had already. I have the two original injections and then 2 boosters and now I am done. I have had Covid twice and the reaction from the injections were worse than having the disease. I can tolerate a fever for a week or so and the other little quirks that go with it, but after I get a booster, I go down for at lest 3 days. If I had health issues, I may look a it differently, but I don't, so I won't.

Experience - the best teacher.

Me too, I do not want any more. I can't stand to be so unwell again after the boosters. I hope it is all mainly over now anyway.

I have already had 4 Covid shots - and I will definitely have the fifth. Vaccinations have done me well and since I like living, I will definitely take all offered. Personally, I think most of the anti-vax propaganda is politically motivated.
It's not so much anti-vax as it is anti-mRna vax. And encouraging vaccination for all ages is political and greed motivated propaganda.

The "updated" vaccine booster lasts about 6 weeks. After that, the protection wanes very rapidly.

Me too @Raddragn. Hubby is in a nursing home now and Covid has taken out a few of the residents in the home recently. It has also taken a toll on the staff's ability to care for them. Carers have to wear masks for their shifts and test themselves daily for Covid. A +ve result means they are excluded from the facility for a week. Visitors like myself are required to take a RAT every second day and must self isolate at home for a week after a +ve result.

These measures have ensured that Covid has been contained and is now absent from the facility, at least for now. It is only by everyone pulling together that we can limit the damage that Covid can bring. Hopefully I won't see the mortuary ambulance parked at the nursing home very often now.

My approach to this pandemic is that it is not just about me and mine. It is also about concern for other members of the community.

I forgot that I put this up here and have just looked in, I
see that there are some varied reasons for and against the
vaccine, to date, I believe that I have had 5, the fact that
we older people are regarded as vulnerable and the Doctors
are still trying to keep us alive, I think that it is only polite, to
take their advice, "we already have one foot in the grave and
the other on a bar of soap", hopefully the need for regular
updates, as boosters, will end before I do, somebody has a
vaccine/booster, that is in the form of a pill, maybe a sweet,
who knows.

It is better than being told that we are a burden to the system,
both the Health Authorities and the Treasury, one keeps me
healthy and the other pays me, so that I can live in comfort,
so yes I will have the booster, if I am offered it.

Mike.

I do understand and I very likely will have my fifth as I am too afraid not to. But, I was very unwell after the fourth one and I am never truly well for very long these days. I keep going down with other infections.
That's all I can say. My immune system feels messed up although I am sure the vaccines have prevented really serious illness.

Dunno. Kinda vax'ed out here. That and not sure anymore who or what is a credible agency to follow advice from.

But then, like Rose65, thinking probably best to get my next - "just in case?"

Thinking back on this entire episode of vax's, I haven't felt "good" since March of 2020 when all this jabbing started. Maybe its just my imagination. But nagging in the back of my mind is that this whole vax thing was never very well thought out.
