Buckingham Palace is set officially to describe Camilla as ‘Queen’, rather than ‘Queen Consort’.

Interesting side track @hollydolly. There has probably never been a Queen monarch whose mother was a former queen unless Catharine of Aragon was still alive when Mary Tudor became Queen of England. Anne Bolyn was dead before Elizabeth I was crowned. Victoria's mother was never a queen. Have I missed any other possibilities? Queen Maud? Queen Mary of William-and-Mary?
who knows.. was Mary of Teck's mother still alive.. or George lV who knows but even when George Vl died Queen Mary was never known as HRH Queen Mary ex queen lol..

The way things are with the heir to the throne and his marriage, this could be seen as the beginning of the end of the Monarchy, shame on Prince William.

William has been in the news, for about 6 years now, about his cheating.
Cheated on Kate when she was pregnant, and he admits to it.

So it seems they don't live together anymore.
If they get divorced, then what?

So. If Prince Philip was still alive and Charles became king, it would be King Charles and Prince Philip? LOL

Re Camilla, I'm sorry. Without knowing her and without being a Brit, I don't like her if for no other reason than she was the third person in Charles' and Diana's marriage (doubtful that there would have been any scandal re Diana and another man had it not been for Charles not keeping his britches zipped).

Having said that, and being the incredibly shallow person that I am, That Woman is as ugly as homemade sin. There. I said it. She always has an expression on her face that makes it look like she's sneering at the mere mortals. Imagine basing my opinion on her looks (like I said, I'm incredibly shallow). Keep in mind that the reason Charles didn't marry her in the first place is that she's a...gasp...commoner.

My mother used to tell me to cultivate a nice personality because I'd never get anywhere on either my looks or my brains. Apparently, Camilla's mother didn't tell her that. (BTW, I should have listened to my mother.)
Lol! Camilla certainly has never compared to Diana who was radiantly beautiful and so caring. I am afraid I just don't like her and never will, for her actions. Her and Charles lacked moral calibre. She ruined Diana's marriage, we all know the story. I am sorry but I cannot bear her being called Queen. It doesn't feel right. I also don't like Charles, I feel his mother held on to her position to the end because she knew he had not got the judgment and character to handle it.

I hope the coronation all goes smoothly, for the sake of our country. We need stability. But I won't be particularly watching it. I miss our Queen and it should have been Diana glittering beside Charles, if only their marriage could have been given a chance.

Having said that I feel every respect for William and Kate, they are wonderful. They behave as they ought as proper royals. One day, if I live to see it, I would love to see William crowned, with his impeccable dignified lovely wife beside him. Kate is magnificent.

Yes it just goes to show that class isn't everything. Camilla is descended from King Charles 11 so has royal blood in her veins, but Kate is far more dignified and regal. Prince William made an excellent choice when he married her.
Camilla enjoys hunting.....no matter what she does, I can never warm to her. Anyone who enjoys such a barbaric activity cannot be considered a decent person.

Hunting is just so terrible. I thought fox hunting had been stopped but I don't know much about these things.

..after the Coronation !

When she first married Charles the public were told that she would never become Queen that , instead she would become Queen consort if and when Charles became King..

Most of the public felt appeased at that.. that she would never replace our Beloved Queen.. nor the Princess of Wales Diana..who should have rightly become Queen..

Now todays' announcement is bound to upset a lot of people..

Camilla has won around the public, and the late Queen’s intervention in February last year when she called for her daughter-in-law to be known as ‘Queen Consort’ is seen as a crucial show of support.

Now Buckingham Palace is set to go further, according to insiders.

The first sign of the new approach came last week when Camilla launched the ‘Queen’s Reading Room’ – without the ‘Consort’ – when she updated the name of her charity, the Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room.

It is thought that the Court Circular – the official register of Royal engagements - may also soon reflect the change.

A well-placed source said: ‘There’s a view in the Palace that Queen Consort is cumbersome and it might be simpler for Camilla to be known just as the Queen when the time is right.

‘The Reading Room was a sign of that. Her Majesty is the Queen after all.

‘Prince Philip was Prince Consort officially, but he wasn’t known as Prince Consort. The Queen would of course still be Queen Consort so the Palace of course wouldn’t stop anyone calling Her Majesty that if they so chose.’

Some news outlets, including The Times and The Telegraph, have already dropped ‘Consort’ when writing about Camilla.

Watch the quiet ones. Camilla is much cleverer than anyone I think. While so many fell by the wayside, she has carefully worked her way right to the top. To be called Queen. Now THAT'S how you do it, a long term plan, followed ruthlessly. It wins power and position, but not necessarily love or affection. Look closer at the Royal family, they had to accept her. Diana's boys had no real choice. This woman has an incredibly powerful effect on Charles. I don't rate him as a man at all, he doesn't have what his mother had - real integrity.

Oh my goodness, some people have such strong feelings in regard to the members of the RF. We are all human , including the RF , no one is perfect, we cannot be made to love someone. They live in a gilded cage, they don’t ask for that, they are doing the best they can on the world stage. Give them a chance, I do not think Charles has been waiting around all these years to be King, he has been working hard and I’m sure he will do a good job.
I agree with Rose65 Camilla is very clever but she loves Charles and I hope will be a great asset for the country.
Given what we read would you swap places with them? I don’t think so.

The original sources from your links are titled Your Tango and GameNGuide (now defunct) so try harder to substantiate that long debunked rumor.

Charles is head of the church of England now. Also an adulterer, as is Camilla. They hurt Diana so much she tried to commit suicide. I cannot easily forget that and I just don't like this pair.
Only my view.

The monarchy, with its pomp and pageantry, is an anachronism in today's day and age, where elected governments in most parts have replaced the absolute power that kings and queens once enjoyed. In the medieval period, the doctrine of the divine right of kings gave unbridled authority to the king.

I just finished reading "Spare" by Harry. He describes some of the backroom scheming by Camilla - throwing him (and William) under the bus to improve her position with the public.
It appears some members of the RF play the press like violins.

Along with most Americans and probably many around the world, I will never respect Camilla and find Charles more than a little shady. At nearly 33 he was a grown-ass man who married an exceedingly naive, love-struck, starry eyed girl who'd just turned 20 earlier that month. Charles was old enough and life-experienced enough to know he wasn't in love with his bride (even worse - he was fully in love with someone else) but wed Diana anyway because it served his and his family's purposes.

Diana wasn't perfect by any means, but the royal family was by far the bigger group of villains in that scenario, which is why she remains a beloved, tragic figure to most of the world.

One can only hope that William does a lot better by Kate.

Wives were chosen for future kings to be brood mares with the right connections. Before and after marriage the heirs to the throne enjoyed healthy sex lives with discreet mistresses, with the agreement of their husbands.

This was not always the case but it was not uncommon.

List of English royal mistresses - Wikipedia
I am well aware of this, but in those past cases, the marriages remained intact.

I've always liked Camilla. Her first boyfriend was Parker-Bowles while she was very young. He cheated on her and they broke up. Next she met Charles and they fell very much in love, both loved horses, silly jokes and spending time together.

Charles was told he wasn't allowed to marry her because she wasn't a virgin and he was too young at the time, so he was sent off on a Navy ship. Camilla's mother and a few others contrived and pushed until they got Camilla and Parker-Bowles to marry. Many years passed and they divorced because he was still a cheater.

Charles married Diana and before too long they find out they are a bad match and, among other things, Diana was having affairs with other men,* so Charles reconnected with the one woman who he thought really loved him. There were more than three people in that marriage and how manipulative and dishonest Diana was to say that on TV knowing she was having affairs, too.

I think Camilla truly loves him and always has. It says a lot about her personality and the way she treats Charles that she has held his interest all these years.
