Angels, Ghosts or Something Else?

I read with interest two articles in the paper, by Nicola Horlick, one
on Saturday and one on Monday.

Nicola Horlick came to fame, many years ago, she was in investment
banking and run a multi million £ company while raising 5 children.

The articles are about the death of her oldest daughter, who died from
Leukaemia, when she was 12 years old.

After her death she alleges that "Georgie", her daughter came back to
let them know that she was still around and that she even saved their
lives on one occasion.

Here are two links to the articles, for those who are interested, they
are a bit long, but I found them interesting, are they true or just
delusions of a bereaved mother, I don't know, but they made me
think.

The links are in the order that they were published.

There is, as far as I know, exactly zero evidence for any sort of afterlife, or "after death communication" (there used to be a forum by that name where numerous anecdotes were posted and discussed), or anything of the sort.

On the other hand, there is probably more we don't know about the universe than we do know, so I also try to keep an open mind. But zero evidence is a very poor reason to believe in something.

Those of us who have experienced this have all the evidence we need. You can't quantify something like this except for yourself. 😇 :)

while there's no proof-positive, I sincerely believe that some of my dearly departed help steer me in the right direction when there's decisions to be made or weighty problems that need solving.

or, so I like to believe that those who were once in my corner are still there hovering over my shoulder...

Believe it also. I was in a medical induced coma on a vent for 6 weeks and my family was told to make funeral arrangements. One morning a doctor came in and I opened my eyes and said "Good Morning" and he thought he was hearing things. It was a long road back but I am still here and remember a lot of things I saw and heard while in the coma. I know I was on the Other Side with God. I was told while there that it was not my time and I had to go back. I hated coming back as it was the most peaceful place I have ever been.

Our minds are capable of playing incredible tricks on us, especially in extreme situations (danger, coma, etc.) Hallucinations can appear to be very real, but they are just a product of our minds. In this case, a bereaved mother would have a very strong reason to want to believe her daughter was still "around."

Our local newspaper took a group of skeptical reporters with three local psychic mediums to two local buildings that were reported to be haunted. One is a few blocks away from me. Another old school but smaller than the one I live in. Now these reporters did not believe in any of this. The problem with this building was no matter what they did, the lights in the old cafeteria would be on when the workers in the business that was there came in every morning. They even shut the circuit breaker off!

One of the psychics, walked in there and immediately she started talking to someone the reporters could not see. She told the person she had to leave and just walk toward the light. She told the reporters it was a woman who used to work there and she turned the lights on every morning as part of her job. The lights never went on again.

Over the years, I have seen and felt many things and some had nothing to do with anyone I personally knew. I have been with a number of people who were dying and during that process, you might not see things unless you are open to it. People who do not believe it will always say it is in your mind or you want it to be true. That is like all things, not just angels or ghosts. So I never try to convince anyone to believe anything I believe. I figure eventually, they might see. Or not. It doesn't really matter me what someone else believes.

I am a bit of a skeptic, but that being said, I have often dreamt of my late husband when trying to come to important decisions about life, Maybe a coincidence? Who knows. No one has really come back to tell us what happens later. It is just pure speculation.
I do like to keep an open mind to things, though.

With due respect to your opinions, that's not exactly true. My new book, (at the publisher) proves my words.
You're a wonderful lady but Yes, They can and do come back to communicate what happens!
AND IT'S INCREDIBLE! Again, I mean no disrespect to you at all!

I'm of the mind "Live and let live!"

Some people have an open mind, others don't. It's absolutely fine by me. People will believe depending upon situations happening in their lives... Some simply won't believe and in the other hand if one time it happens to them, then their beliefs will be either shattered, changed or remain the same.

That is why we love each other as we're different. So, disclaimer! I'm not saying this to change your beliefs, nuh huh nope.

I've experienced things of the paranormal nature as long as I've been alive. I've been left at funeral parlours many a-time in my childhood. I've spoken with people in those places, face-to-face conversations like anyone would be having in any given day. The significant dates were 1966, 1969, 1973 and 1974.

I can tell you just by entering a home, if there's presences from the other side. One time I went into an abandoned building on a dare. I met a man in strange clothing who told me a story. Long-story-short the man had died years ago when the building had been constructed.

I passed on the information I'd received and his bones were found during the demolition. He finally received a proper burial and his family was ever grateful. When they showed me a few pictures (to test my story), I picked their uncle. Exactly the man that had died over 15 years ago.

I went back to the site, saw him again. He thanked me profusely and disappeared in a ray of sun and smoke. At the top of it, there were other souls waiting for him.

Finally, I've acquired a wee kitten recently and he's a bundle of joy. However, there's another black kitten in the house. Out of the corner of my eye, last night, the covers over my legs were pulled into a circle, there was a loud meow and I felt pressure in my legs and just as quickly I saw another wee black kitten with a white spot on her nose.

The only one like that, that I knew of was Blackie, who died in a fire along the other 12, aka my baker's dozen from a cold night in February 1962. Daughter saw her father's soul leave his body the day he died in front of her back in April. I was crying two days ago and the tissue box landed in my lap. Then, I heard "please don't cry, I'll always love you..." whispered with the last word... Hubby's nickname for me.

Blessed be!

David Fontana: Is There An Afterlife? A Comprehensive Overview of the Evidence.
The author comes to the conclusion that there is evidence.

Absolutely believe it. 😇
When you experience things like this personally, you can’t ‘not believe’ any more.

I have said this once and will say it again. Animals can see and hear things that we humans cannot. So what are they hearing and seeing.

I had one cat that every so often would go on what can only be described as a frenzy after looking at something that simply was not visible to me. My cousin witnessed this one night, left without finishing her dinner, and her words going out the door were "may God protect you"

I'm a realist. I've wondered why these spirits of dearly loved ones' always say they are doing well. How many say, "Oh, crap, I'm in hell." Do you think a tortured mind, consumed with grief, conjures up a hopeful scenario?

As I said in a similar thread, the total number of humans who have ever lived is about 117 billion. The current population of the planet is about 8 billion. Even if only 1% are ghosts that still leaves over 1 billion. Why are they so rare? Where are they?

How do we know they don’t? If that actually happened do you really think the mother would proudly want to share her new discovery? Plus I ‘think’ that since like attracts like , we resonate closest to our own vibrational frequency. We are, molecules dancing, just like everything in life. As humans with a physical body, we see it as solid. It’s actually not. Why don’t we see water as two gasses together? We don’t but that doesn’t discount the fact that it’s still 2 gasses mixed together.

The same with our cat Lilou.

Oh YES, Lee! This has happened MANY, MANY times! Haha! Once I read aloud the name of a god from a book on "gods of the ancient Egyptians" or something like that. It was a long name. My cat humped up like a Halloween cat, huge eyes, terrified, spit, stared at the ceiling and fled out of the room! I usually can see entities but I couldn't see or even feel this one!

Just a thought, but perhaps hell is really just total non-existence. The ultimate price for an evil life, is no eternal life? Not saying I know anything more than anyone else, but in the end I have to go with my gut, which is more yea, than nay.
