I'll tell you what I don't like... I don't like movies and books where there is a lot of bickering, or yelling and screaming. I don't care for fantasy stories. I don't like stories where I don't like any of the characters. I don't like plots that are nothing but chase scenes and fights. What else... I'm not much for romance movies. I don't care for movies with serious technical errors where you think: that would defy the laws of physics.

I guess I like anything with interesting characters. That's about it.

I like best selling fiction and classic literary fiction. I love when the stories are very character driven. I’m not much interested in the plot usually.

I like all on the list except for horror. Not much comedy unless it's witty; do not like slapstick or stand up comedy at all. My favorite fiction genres are historical fiction that motivates me to research the actual events and post apocalyptic world fiction.

Hate romantic books or films.. ugh!... True crime.. Biographical. ( some might say this and the previous are intertwined )... Documentaries... strictly Non fiction when it comes to reading material..

Used to devour crime novels years ago.. Christie, Conan Doyle etc... only been reading Non Fiction now for the last 20 years.. Just don't have a good enough imagination for fiction..
I’m exactly the same. I have read a few fiction books though but not many. In fact I don’t read as much as I used to.
I loved to go to the library and come home with 10 books, lay them all out and go through them to see which one I’d start first.

I like historical fiction , drama, mystery, adventure, true story or documentary,
Sucky Disney movies, animal or pet stories,
action that isn’t too violent and some tasteful romance is good, excluding most Harlequin or made for tv ones. They are far too pretentious for me.I hate horror or stupid funny.

With books, it is often fiction, suspense or some kind of mystery. I read a lot of short stories as well. I enjoy the Chicken Soup books.
I do enjoy some sci fy in movies and TV. Deep Impact and Armageddon were good. I liked Forrest Gump. I like courtroom drama and medical too

I am for pure escapism, therefore I steer away from anything that is pure drama! I also discovered late in my life that I liked romances, even though I had made fun of them in my younger years.

Yes, I even read Harlequins but steer away from all the stereotypical books about Sheiks, Bikers, Mafia Dons & family, and arrogant, misogynistic males who happen to end up having soft hearts after all. I also steer away from authors who feature prolonged disagreements and conflicts. As I wrote, the name of the game is escape! What's wrong with enjoying HEA in an otherwise humdrum life?

Real life war stories! Primarily WWII, but only because there are less stories on WWI, Korea, Vietnam, and the Civil War (etc.). I like all history, but especially reading about people who actually fought in wars...

Here is one of my favorite Audiobooks:

"Fateful Lightning: A New History of the Civil War and Reconstruction"

By: Allen C. Guelzo
Narrated by: Brian Holsopple

I save my favorites after listening to them and come back to listen to them again in the future. I suggest everyone try this audiobook and report back here what they think.

Every time I re-listen to my favorite audiobooks, I learn something new.

My favourites all!!!
If you haven't watched Sleepy Hollow, the series, I highly recommend you check it out. I wasn't interested in watching it but my son wanted to check it out so I watched with him. I was hooked within the first half hour. My son, his oldest son and his friends also got hooked. I, who never entertain, even had a Sleepy Hollow 2nd Season premiere party. I just started rewatching the series for the third time. Hulu has all the seasons. If you don't have Hulu and haven't seen the series, it's worth taking advantage of the free trial and maybe even pay for a month. We seem to have the same tastes and you seem to binge watch pretty quickly. :D

@OneEyedDiva We don't get Hulu here in the Maritimes (in Canada?). Thanks for bringing the show to my attention, though! Between Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney+ and Paramount+ it might be listed somewhere else as well! I sure hope so. I have been listless in my TV viewing after finishing the Orwell, since I can't find another show that is as humourous as it is gripping. I also liked that it was so over the top, every alien spoke perfect English, the sound track was filled with our music and there were not so sly references to present problems as well. Thumbs way up and thanks for pointing to the show in the first place!

@OneEyedDiva I looked up Sleepy Hollow, found that Hulu was owned by Disney, started my search in Disney+ and voila there it was. I am just now watching the first episode. Ichabod and the police Lieutenant are quite an appealing pair, so that's a plus already. Headless horsemen aren't usually my taste, but a man being transported 250 years into the future is another big plus!
