What Do You Want to Be Remembered For

This is a good question!

I would like to be remembered
for helping others
reach their potential,
whatever it is.

I would like to be remembered
for my empathy and generosity,
in giving more than I receive.

I would like to be remembered
for my poetry and books,
and that I left this place
a better place than before.

There's more, but these are what came up for now.

Even though I have no control over what people will remember me for I'd hope it would be good things. People will be people and people can be fickle so I don't have any hopes for anything in that regard and I'll be dead and gone anyways so I won't know whatever they remember me for. Another good thing about kicking the bucket 🪣😂

People’s memories are highly selective, but generally I think that we end up with a composite view of others after they have left us. I think it would be rare to focus on a single trait or incident. While I would like for people to remember me fondly, I know that isn’t going to alway happen because of circumstances or choices that I had to make. People that I had to throw our of the Navy or fire are not going to remember me the same way as those that I promoted or hired.
If I think about the people that I remember fondly, it is always because of their composite character. This would include family members and acquaintances. So this is an exceedingly difficult question to answer.
I try to be a good and honorable man.

I don't want to be remembered when I have gone, I want to be remembered now! I want to be wanted, included and appreciated for the things I have to share with others now. Memories are great but I want to have mine in current time so I can make and enjoy all the special things that give me purpose, that not only make me happy but also those around me. That I have made a difference in the ordinary day to day things of life. That is what makes a life well lived. I want to bask in the bliss of all my blessings now, there is always the after, let's just think about today.

Like most people, would hope some would remember a few good points.
Maybe that I was a 'soft touch' when it came to money.

But probably be remembered as a pain to work with or be around, due to my compulsion for details.

'Devil in the Details' as they say; small ones really matter.
That and saying, 'What's next?', when the job was done and everyone else wanted a break.

Couldn't help it, just the way I'm wired.

Same here; they don't remember me now, why would they after I'm dead?
so .. in your whole 28 years:sneaky: , all the people you've met...whose lives you've touched, who you've worked with, socialised with... had a family with....if they were told you'd passed on, you don't think any of them would say '' Aww I remember officer Ripley when she... '' ?

did you say a soft touch when it comes to money ?.... you know I have a terrible problem the other day my roof blew off.. and fell on my car.. now I have no roof and no car... and the last person I would want to ask is you, ... I'll just carry on not having a roof, and all the rain pouring in... and me sitting under the newspaper, because I can't afford a brolly... and my poor car all flattened... 😭😭😭
