Lets post vintage pictures of things you used to enjoy

I've been looking for a Picture of Willow Grove Amusement Park, but sadly couldn't find one. Every year when I was in grade school we would all go to the amusement park, and our moms would come too. The school would rent buses to take us. They were the Good Old Days.

I didn't know they still made Avantis!! No wonder I was seeing other sporty looking cars like this when I researched the vintage image.

I remember the first time I saw this car. My father was taking me to work at the mall and I was fascinated by it because I'd never seen one before. I always enjoyed seeing that car. This is an internet photo of the Avanti.

Thanks @OneEyedDiva. I clearly remember it. That was one beautiful car . . . introduced by Studebaker in 1962.

I once went as a passenger in one of those ( in red).. on an MG rally... (not a race)... about 20 MG's all in convoy. It was a lovely day but it was a horrible ride. The car is so low to the ground I could feel every single stone or bump in the road..
My 1975 Midget was even rougher riding than my 63 MGB. It was smaller and lighter than the B and the model I had came with a factory installed Triumph engine so it was quite a bit zippier than the B. Neither car was solidly reliable but on the days when they decided to run well, they were fun to drive.

Yes and Thank You. Oh, the memories that brought back to me, especially the roller coaster. A neighborhood boy who later became my boyfriend was in my class at school so he would be there too, He loved going on the Roller Coaster, and in the tunnel of love, He would tell me that the bar on the roller coaster wasn't safe so he would hug me to keep me safe, of course, his hand would land on my boobie. He also loved going in the Tunnel of Love. His hands were busy in there too.

I reluctantly admit that the first time a saw an image of this car when I was about 15 or 16, I thought it was ugly. Only when older did I get an appreciation for its styling. I even still have the image of it that I first saw, in an eight volume encyclopaedia called “The Car”. A weekly publication that was then hard bound in to 8 volumes.

Of the image you posted, my book from all that time ago says, “Studebaker Avanti, 4736cc V8 (289ci ?) 130mph. With fibreglass body shell.

In the early 80’s when I was at college, my college lecturer had one these. An original AC Cobra from the 1960’s. Some of these originals now go for £1 million.

I think he must have owned 8 different cars, including a red Stutz Black Hawk (Speedster). With a straight 8 engine with Single Overhead Cam, in 1929! He removed the single updraft carb and fitted four sidedraft SU’s. It was a monster. He did vintage circuit racing in it. I worked on the cylinder head for him when I was 17.
