We had one that wore white gogo boots AND bright white eye shadow. When I was in first grade around 1969, there was a girl in the class named Julie, who had a pair of crinkly white patent leather gogo boots, and I wanted some so badly. I thought she was so cool that I even wanted to be named ‘Julie’.

I agree! For many decades now I have been a Birkenstocks and flats person, but when I was young, I loved my pretty shoes. Those were the most uncomfortable shoes on the planet so I had two pair in my early twenties before I decided life was too short to wear painful shoes.
Kalso Earth Shoes have the right idea. I never had a pair, but their shoes, having a Lower heel than the rest of the foot is better for our backs. I can feel this when I'm walking in the woods and my lumbar begins to hurt. If I dig my heels down into the earth, my stance is changed and my back feels better almost immediately.
