The majority of hospitals in the UK are publicly funded and run by the NHS...
Some of them resemble cattle markets now, Holly.
I really do feel for the medics as well as the sick folks who have to be there.
I've got a few friends in the same age group as myself who tell their families not to send for ambulances if they take ill, but to just let them die at home rather than on a trolley in a corridor.

That wait room, along with excellent reporting you did, @hollydolly shows a terribly awful situation at the hospital, imo.... I have worked in hospital as well, so I know the realities can be extremely poor, but that situation for very ill people, is dreadful.
Thanks for all of that sharing, though.

..by now I'm wanting out of this hospital, I'd already been there hours.. and I had never encountered anything like this in an A&E dept, ..read about it in some hospitals, saw documentaries on it on TV... never witnessed it ever... I was actually shaken up... this was within feet of me..

so I decided I would go home.. so I went over and told the nursing Sister that I was leaving and so she got me in to have X-rays and bloods immediately... that was about 7.30pm...

....so they said I have a mild case of Pneumonia.. and gave me antibiotics intravenously for about 20 minutes.. and then sent me home with a prescription for doxycycline.. and the usual instructions on treating it as tho' it were a bad case of flu... ( this is the 3rd time now I've had pneumonia ) ECG was fine and BP was as it should be which is good... which is bloody surprising given all that had happened during today.. starting off with that company and my DD who tok £80 out of my account and still haven't rung back... to this 2 hospital visit... and this fighting.. and the long waits.. but what really put the whole tin lid on it for me today.. was when I got into the hospital multi storey car park, and just driving into a space.. a car reversed right into the front of me (SMASH)

he got out of his car and I said ''you've just reversed into me '' !!!.. he said he didn't see me, but I was tooting you loudly I said.. and he said... ''Oh I wondered where that tooting was coming from''. ...so help me I could have hit him... what a complete twonk.. not only not looking in his mirror while reversing, but ''totally oblivious to someone behind him tooting their horn''..

so this has been the day of Hell today... !

Thank you for all your best wishes... I wish I'd never got up this morning tbh..:(
OMG, what an awful day for you! So sorry you have pneumonia, Holly. Please take good care of yourself and get well! 🌹

My breathing feels easier this morning.. still not great but definitely easier, thankfully..

It's a glorious sunny day.. so I have all the windows open wide, that brings in the fresh air and helps me breathe as well..

I've yet to go and study the front of my car..couldn't really see it properly in the dark of the Multi-story car park.. and feeling as rough as I did.... there's not much damage I don't think.. but it's annoying that there's any at all .. :(

Still waiting for the call back from the company who took my money, I'll give them an hour and then I'll call them again...

Seems there was a Malevolent moon yesterday with all that happened with many of us... lets hope today is the start of better things.. 🤗
Wow, what a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day you had. The hospital drama sounds shocking. Between that and the long wait, it's no wonder you were considering leaving before being taken care of.

Hoping the antibiotics do the job quickly and that you'll actually stay off for your feet for a few days.

Confused... I ordered a new ceramic hotplate to replace the duff one on my cooker from one company. The order confirmation came from another company, and the part was dispatched from third one. Stranger still, I received a pack of 2 hotplates. At least, it was the correct part and was delivered very quickly. Also since I have two rings the same size on the hob, I have a spare should that one fail.

Well that's the cooker fixed. Tomorrow I have to go and pick up the new lawnmower and maybe even cut the grass.

Well, Holly, you had quite a day.....pneumonia AND the Friday Night Fights in the Emergency Room. It's never a dull moment in an emergency room.

Take care. Pneumonia can be a real run for the money.
thanks Jules.. yes I'm afraid this is my third bout with the pneumonia.. fortunately this one isn't nearly as bad as the last, but I'm certainly resting. Just slept for 2 hours this afternoon..

I worked and worked and worked in the garden. Pulled and dug weeds. Most of the section with knockout roses has been cleared at last. There's still a good bit to do. Sigh.

Oh. And dug up four dead knockout roses. There's one that I looked at all winter thinking I should *really* transplant it and didn't do anything more than think about it. Now it's too late until next winter.

It's hot. Noon and it's already 84.

How did noon get here so fast?
