You can save a lot of money by changing filters yourself. YouTube will show you how to change the cabin filter. Normally it's behind the glove box. Air filters are usually even easier. Buy the filters at Discount Auto or O'reilly's and you can swap both in about 15 minutes.I've been thinking about replacing my '17 Audi with a new car. I've had it for 7 years and I drive it locally every day. It only has 30k miles, but I'd just like something different. My partner just leased a '23 Mazda CX-30 and it is a fantastic vehicle. I was tempted.
However, I just went in for my 30k mile service and my shop found that it needed a new cabin air filter, brake flush, air filter, etc. The cost was over $750! I also recently replaced the tires, which weren't cheap.
I was considering a Mazda3, but no new car for me. After the money I've spent I figure the car will be in good working condition for years and I need to hang onto it.

Apparently yes, they do.I have always loved a cigar and a bowl of bacci and then the oz govt hiked the tax on them to ridiculous levels to try to stop people smoking- no exemptions for the oldies so now 1 cigar can cost $50 - $90 ozzie dollars and a small tin of pipe tobacco $100 ozzie - don't they care about the retirees?/
TOO funny!!What Didn't You Buy And Why Not?
Bathroom scales that tell fibs.
Decided against buying them because I've already got two scales that only tell the truth.![]()
Looks like you dodgedI didn't buy dining room chairs last year because I couldn't find just what I wanted, which would have been faux leather, deep brown high back chairs. I also didn't buy a beautiful art deco rug that perfectly matched the colors in the mural on my wall. I didn't get that because after paying for it in full, Overstock.com canceled my order because I didn't verify my email address! That's one of the dumbest things I ever encountered.
I was so upset that I didn't reorder it. Well it's a good thing I didn't get any of those items because shortly after, we were adopted by our kitten who my son nicknamed "Deja The Destroyer". She really scratched up the chairs I was (luckily) going to get rid of anyway.
Yep! Gives credence to the theory that some things happen for a reason.Looks like you dodgeda bulletcat claws by resisting those purchases!
I camp with a tent, wood for a fire, my coffee pot. lolQuick aside off topic:
Mary, do you camp with a tent, RV, cabin or something else?
How often do you go camping Mary? Do you always go to the same spot? My honorary daughter was supposed to take me "glamping" once but we wound up not going. The outdoor camping thing is definitely not for me.I camp with a tent, wood for a fire, my coffee pot. lol

Me either, Diva. How often do you go camping Mary? Do you always go to the same spot? My honorary daughter was supposed to take me "glamping" once but we wound up not going. The outdoor camping thing is definitely not for me.![]()
camp @ state parks with siblingsMe either, Diva.
I tent camped until DH & I were in our early 30s, mostly stopped camping altogether until our early 60s, when we bought a 10 year old 5th wheel in excellent condition. Glamping fits our style so much better at this age. No creepy crawlies to fight off, have AC and heat, a comfy king sized bed, running water including a full shower and flush toilet, and a fully functional kitchen with a decent sized fridge.
I salute seniors who still tent camp but can't say I envy them.
Mary, do you generally camp in an area with campsites, or strike off on your own?
How's your trike working out?camp @ state parks with siblings
Is it collapsible, Mary?OMG, tried to take it...couldn't take it and all my camping gear. Now I have to get me an enclosed trailer to tow it all.
No stupid me, bought it and didn't realize it wasn't collapsible. Is it collapsible, Mary?
Don't blame yourself. Many aren't. I'm on the lookout for a nice one that is, for the same reason you bought yours. I want to be able to take it along camping. No stupid me, bought it and didn't realize it wasn't collapsible.
Could you borrow a step ladder from a neighbor or landlord? Are you planning to stay in that apartment for several years? If so, the convenience of the shelving might be justifiable.I want to buy "daylight" light bulbs. But if I do that, I'll have to rent or borrow a step ladder so I can change all the lightbulbs. Too overwhelming.
I want to buy some liquid car wax, but first I have to check and see how much I already have, and what brand it was. I don't usually lose track of stuff, but I can't remember where the car wax is. Too overwhelming.
I want to buy shelves to organize my storage room, but I can't really justify the expense.
