I was addicted to sugar as well. Thought I was doing pretty doing my own baking with more natural ingredients, but sugar is sugar, and it has devastating effects on our health. I gave it up cold turkey and was literally in bed for 2 days sick. It took a long time to get over the cravings and mentally wanting desert and treats but after a few years my health changed completely. I also do intermittent fasting, I eat during a 4 hour window each day and nothing else outside of that. Have been doing that for about 8 years and that really has helped me health wise as well.
