Would you ever have the nerve or the stamina to marry a 16 yr old - well it seems to be legal in most of the world now - but that doesn't make it morally right or does it??

This particular guy had lots and lots of money and is a sultry South American who seems to have an aussie citizenship too?

Marriage will it last?

In Scotland it's normal to be married at 16. When I was a teen my best friend got pregnant and then Married at 16...
 
It's all about LUV. He loves her youth and all the pretty parts that come with it, and she loves his do-re-mi. Her mother had to give her consent for the marriage. Mama loves his do-re-mi, too. It's a business transaction. Although there are other names for it, I'll refrain from using them. The child will eventually collect on her prenup when either she or the old man has had enough, and she'll be on her way, but she might have to remain married to him for a specified amount of time in order to collect, and she might also have to produce an heir. I don't because I didn't draw up the contract. Whatever. I hope they'll all be very happy.

Not in the UK, 16 is legal and was when I was a lad. If it was 15 years as in the USA, 80% of the UK male population would be doing time.

That explains why the guys all ride bikes and keep their Harleys longer, and get reborn with a new one when they reach fifty.

How can anyone judge who belongs together ? So long as it's legal. Finding that "other" person is hard enough [I failed at it] Maybe these two got it right? Maybe she's a gold digger ? ... Not accusing, just asking/stating well it's his gold , if he doesn't care ?... the rest is none of my business.

I hope his health holds for a very long time , and I wish them well.
 
When I was 16 I was married to a 30 year old foreign man for about nine months or so. I was trying to escape an abusive stepfather. Both of my parents had to sign off on this marriage and they did! I was secretly hoping they would say no at the last minute. I was too proud to back out and didn’t see any other way out of my home situation. But nobody tried to talk me out of it. I can tell you it was one of the most damaging things that ever happened to me. The guy turned out to be a sociopath. It might be fun for the man, but it’s extremely damaging for the teen.

Sorry you had to go through all that. I dated [for a time] a young woman who's story sounds similar. But all that said, are you trying to inject your bad luck / mis fortune into this union ? We do not know these two people ... as such we have no idea how they will end-up. I hope, just fine.

It wasn’t bad luck, it was bad parenting, and pedophilia.
 
in this case I believe it's all about monies each way and everway - he is worth billions!
