I love using ignore as much as knowing I'm ignored.
Both un-clutter my mind in a positive way.

I have found, in my vast experience, that no one knows better and no one gets wiser with age.Yes we are seniors, we ought to know better.
I agree aI'm not sure how to reply to this as I don't completely agree with it (so a "like" doesn't quite work), don't completely disagree with it (the angry face would be way out of bounds), but also have nothing to add to it. Yet, I don't want to ignore it as that would imply, well, that I'm ignoring it for some reason.
Hence: Noted.
We need aemoji.
In those instances I just use the thumbs up ''like '' buton which I used on your post just now Star.. often it's to say a person is not being ignored and that I've read and liked their post... other times it means I agree with their post..or at least agree with the sentiments..I agree aemoji would be very useful. I'd use it to say, "I read your post, understand what you're saying, and get where you're coming from."
That doesn't imply I agree with a stance, think their life situation is "likable" or requires a hug, sadness or anger on my part. It's simply a statement that I took the time to read what they had to say and know them a bit better because of it.
People aren't always hoping to be supported or agreed with, simply being heard is often enough.
I do the same.In those instances I just use the thumbs up ''like '' button which I used on your post just now Star.. often it's to say a person is not being ignored and that I've read and liked their post... other times it means I agree with their post..or at least agree with the sentiments..
Totally agree; I know that's true of me.People aren't always hoping to be supported or agreed with, simply being heard is often enough.
For me, the "Like" button is too close to indicating (or being interpreted as) my actually agreeing with the content of the post, which I don't, completely or I'd "Like" it. That's how I interpret the "Like," anyway and consequently, I'm reticent to use it in that way.I do the same.
For me,What would your interpretation of this be?
What would everyone else’s interpretation of this check mark be?
Hover over the member's avatar and click the "ignore" button. How does one go about blocking someone?
There are things I see in posts that I might only partly agree with, but significantly enough for me to click 'Like'. There are some things in other posts that I might not mostly agree with, but I might click ‘Like’ because of how it was put over. Personally, I try not to read too much into people’s emoji’s. If people really want me to fully understand their reaction to a post of mine, tell me using words instead. I’m not going to judge someone’s reaction to much from an emoji. I think that would be a bit silly. It amazes me how many seem to read a novel into other peoples emojis.

I'm tell'n ya, I need a.

it's been asked before. This is a standard forum these emoticons are part of the forum.I was on a Xenforo-powered forum like this once and they had, as well as a Like button, a 'Read' button if you just wanted to signal that you had read the post without actually giving it a like. More neutral in a way
Elsewhere, I've also seen a 'Dislike' button, which some might prefer to have as an option. I guess Matrix is the guy to ask if you want that..
nah that is only your interpretation it can mean different things to different peoples - this after all is an international site heh - the tickk symbol to me from say uk or oz means - yes I agree with your sentiment and even I have your back? For me,would mean I've read your post and appreciate your opinion.

Ah I see said the blind man!! - the process reminds me of how the well known french actor/producer/comedian Jacques Tati would deal with the need to block someone - finish up blocking himself!!
And some folks are just determined to take umbrage at any little thing they think they can use.....And there lies the problem. Not necessarily in the emoji itself, but the way in which it might be interpreted. The same person might even interpret it differently on different occasions.
As previously mentioned by another poster, use them with care, but that doesn’t mean the person posting them should feel responsible for how the other person ‘sees’ them.
Some of us are more senior than othersSo many times there are the inevitable squabbles that come with participating in a forum with so many different people from so many cultures and values. I think it's fine, in fact I love the (usually) healthy debate.
One thing we have in common is that we're seniors. Most people at this point have wisdom and common sense.
So, when there is a squabble and it dies down and people get back to the discussion, why oh why must someone always come back in with a comment even in support of a poster? Just let it go. Its over (or so we thought.)
I'm not lecturing, I'm requesting. I won't respond to comments on this thread. I won't debate.
I won't reply, I'll let it lie.
Yes, that's my interpretation. That's why I said, "For me..."nah that is only your interpretation it can mean different things to different peoples - this after all is an international site heh - the tickk symbol to me from say uk or oz means - yes I agree with your sentiment and even I have your back?
I had to look up, "Xenforo-powered forum." lol - I see it's a company of some sort that, um, powers forums.I was on a Xenforo-powered forum like this once and they had, as well as a Like button, a 'Read' button if you just wanted to signal that you had read the post without actually giving it a like. No, we certainly shouldn't as we have no control over how others react, only how we do.As previously mentioned by another poster, use them with care, but that doesn’t mean the person posting them should feel responsible for how the other person ‘sees’ them.

Anyway, while I like the idea of a, "Read" button, I'm really warming to my.

It doesn't need to be all that serious. I'll use my little checks, (and you can too, if you want), follow them with "Got it." or "Gotcha" or "Acknowledged." or "Read and Appreciated." Actually, I like that last one. And people will get my meaning.I'm now warming to it too. It would only work though if everyone, and future member to come, knew what its purpose was, or had become. I don't know what options there might be available for renaming this check mark as a "Read" mark or similar.
