Grocery Store Pizza

I bought one with pepperoni and another time with sausage. I didn't care for the meats - they tasted "stale" although I wasn't sickened by them. I like peppers on pizza. ;) also mushroom and black olives.

funnily enough I always think the same about the meats on Pizzas... I don't like Olives or Pepperoni either as well as so many other Pizza toppings lol..which probably explains why I rarely eat Pizzas.. :D

I have bought grocery store pizza before I "saw the light." The "light that I saw" was the printing on the box that said there was 35% or more salt in the pizza. No more pizza for me. I think the pizza in the pizza stores is better. But if you love a lot of salt in your veins, frozen pizza at Superstore or Safeway is definitely the way to go.

Talking of Pizza, the best Pizza I ever had was in Verona Northern Italy.. huge, super thin and no fancy embellishments, just cheese, tomato, mushrooms, Prosciutto, and fresh basil... you might say of course..you were in Italy, where else would you get a better Italian food..stuff?

... ah but.. I may also tell you that the tastiest.. and believe me I've had it in Italy, the UK, Germany .. and many other countries..was a wonderful Carbonara.. at a rooftop restaurant in Cyprus... and of course as everyone knows Cypriots are Greeks/Turks..

Food made from scratch is generally much lower in sodium, pizza included.

Seems like all the manufactured foods have enough added sodium to harden the arteries of a buffalo. Of course then they can offer "reduced sodium" foods at a premium price, but even at 1/3rd less sodium you'll still die from a stroke! 😮
I've moved to unsalted Hanover pretzels and saltines with unsalted tops from Walmart.

Sodium in 1 oz pretzels: Hanover Regular 23.0Ā¢/oz and 280 mg/oz. Unsalted Hanover, 30.7.0Ā¢/oz and 0 mg sodium

Sodium in 5 crackers: Premium Saltines, standard salted tops: 135 mg, Unsalted tops: 60 mg (No price difference)
Both also available in Walmart's Great Value brand. Same sodium levels as Premium and no price difference for regular or unsalted.
(GV Saltines cost less than half the price of Premium Saltines.)

Yes, so are home made soups. The soups at our stores here, regardless of brand, are definitely helpful if you want a heart attack or stroke because your veins are full of salt and the blood cannot flow.

It is the processed food that is killing a lot of people. You are 100% correct there StarSong. Anything made at home is sure better than just about anything that you buy in the store. Fresh fruit and vegetables are an exception to this rule. Canned fruit is good too but keep away from all that processed junk that is full of salt and only god knows what other horrible chemicals.

While shopping at Superstore this morning, I looked at their "President's Choice" soup noodles. They were 63% salt. Give me a break!

yes agreed, but where canned fruit is concerned choose the fruit in juice and not in syrup which is full of sugar

I like to make my own pizza, though I used the Trader Joe's bagged dough. It's really about as good as homemade.

Finally chopped, broccoli, onions, and some sliced olives is my favorite. Sometimes green pepper also.
