I often do that... ( some people just buy the base)... because I dislike so much of regular toppings.. so I just add mushrooms and ham.. I don't like tomato sauce which of course is the basis of every Pizza... nor do I like cooked tomatoes, or peppers..I bought a plain cheese pizza in the deli, but added mushrooms and fresh chopped tomatoes.

funnily enough I always think the same about the meats on Pizzas... I don't like Olives or Pepperoni either as well as so many other Pizza toppings lol..which probably explains why I rarely eat Pizzas..I bought one with pepperoni and another time with sausage. I didn't care for the meats - they tasted "stale" although I wasn't sickened by them. I like peppers on pizza.also mushroom and black olives.
Food made from scratch is generally much lower in sodium, pizza included.I have bought grocery store pizza before I "saw the light." The "light that I saw" was the printing on the box that said there was 35% or more salt in the pizza. No more pizza for me. I think the pizza in the pizza stores is better. But if you love a lot of salt in your veins, frozen pizza at Superstore or Safeway is definitely the way to go.
Seems like all the manufactured foods have enough added sodium to harden the arteries of a buffalo. Of course then they can offer "reduced sodium" foods at a premium price, but even at 1/3rd less sodium you'll still die from a stroke!Food made from scratch is generally much lower in sodium, pizza included.
I've moved to unsalted Hanover pretzels and saltines with unsalted tops from Walmart.Seems like all the manufactured foods have enough added sodium to harden the arteries of a buffalo. Yes, so are home made soups. The soups at our stores here, regardless of brand, are definitely helpful if you want a heart attack or stroke because your veins are full of salt and the blood cannot flow.Food made from scratch is generally much lower in sodium, pizza included.
yes agreed, but where canned fruit is concerned choose the fruit in juice and not in syrup which is full of sugarYes, so are home made soups. It is the processed food that is killing a lot of people. You are 100% correct there StarSong. Anything made at home is sure better than just about anything that you buy in the store. Fresh fruit and vegetables are an exception to this rule. Canned fruit is good too but keep away from all that processed junk that is full of salt and only god knows what other horrible chemicals.
While shopping at Superstore this morning, I looked at their "President's Choice" soup noodles. They were 63% salt. Give me a break!
I like to make my own pizza, though I used the Trader Joe's bagged dough. It's really about as good as homemade.Food made from scratch is generally much lower in sodium, pizza included.
