I'm so old that......

Maybe only Brits will know this..
I am so old I remember the Lyons Corner House, Maison Lyons and Tea Rooms in London where as children we were allowed to choose any cake we fancied from the display. I was 14 years old when they closed in 1977. The chain was started by Nigella Lawson’s maternal side of the family.

This was from my first art class. I wasn't allowed to paint on the cave walls at home. ;)

I remember hanging out at the "funny book" section
of the drug store; finally buying "Casper" and "Archie".
playing pinball at the local bar, listening to Slim Whitman
on the jukebox; cherry cokes, Wolfman Jack, bobby socks,
Saturday matinees at the theater, Fried chicken every Sunday.
WMCI good guys. happy face t-shirt as I recall.
Stevie Wonder on the top ten list for over ten weeks.
Now I remember WMCI Casey Casome was a DJ.
Drug stores had soda fountains AND wooden payphones. I would rush down and call my girlfriend and sit in that payphone for an hour.
Cherry Cokes I remember well Chocolate cokes were on the list as well. :)
