What are you doing today 2023

I thought that I would share some, not all of what I did these past two days with all of you.

I once again thought about my unresolved problems and issues.
I am the type of person that needs answers- and things resolved in nice, tidy packages.
I know that life is complicated and messy.

On Wednesday I did one load of laundry.
I turned on the tv to the crime drama TV Series Blue Bloods.
I left a message for the electrician.
At this time, he has not returned my call.
I went online to research surge protectors.

On Thursday I dusted two rooms.
I used Woolite Delicates to wash out a few things.
I left a message for our local/area elder care.
I had a question about an elder care service.
At this time, they have not returned my call.
One thought that crossed my mind was to research the different types of home health aides or services.
Etc.

The elder care returned my call.
I have an in-home computer technician appointment.
I am just thinking.

doesn't take much to confuse me Star as you well know... but in those pics it shows it has a vest top.. but also that it's a Bikini..
The bra top is worn under the tank. The back view shows the bra top through the keyhole. I like a tankini - my stomach isn't nearly as adorable as it once was so bikini type two piece suits don't, um, suit me anymore.

Had all the grands here yesterday afternoon plus my 18 year old niece who's visiting from the east coast. Today the two older grands (11 & 8) are coming around noon - and hopefully the 19 month old (different family) will be here after his nap. The older ones will stay for a sleepover with their big cousin.

Should be a rollicking good time! I love, love, love having kids in the house!

I've done very little today...I love rainy days, where I just hunker down, it's all quiet outside.. hardly any traffic..or people going by... no children out playing...blissful silence...

All I've done today, is vac up and downstairs, including the stairs... the usual washing up and kitchen cleaning.. and I made myself some boiled eggs and soldiers for lunch.

That's it..nothing else....

Just waiting now for 2 deliveries to arrive.. no ETA... it's gone past 4.30pm now.. still raining steadily

I made it to the grocery store early this morning but it was still hot and not my most fun grocery shopping trip. Here's my tale of woe. It could be much worse but darn, some things are annoying.

First, I forgot the darned bags in the car AGAIN. Oh, well. They were happy to sell me theirs for .10 apiece. Then they had moved the bread and that was hide and seek for a bit. The worst thing was I managed to jam the register a couple of times and once had to have someone come and unjam it. There was an employee standing 10' away who ignored me until the manager walked over to her and sent her my way. She wasn't very happy about it but she got me going again. I'm not sure why I had trouble with it this morning. It's all new equipment in that store and it's been smooth every time before, must have been me.

There's a little backstory as to why I was shopping this morning. Since the beginning of the pandemic I've had dairy delivery. We are so fortunate to have an excellent dairy in the area and their products are much fresher than what's on store shelves. Tuesday night my dairy delivery was stolen right out of the delivery box on my front porch, so now there's a new kind of porch pirate here. I truly hope they needed it and didn't just steal it and throw it away. If they had told me they were hungry I would have given it to them but theft makes me angry. Anyway, I've put that delivery on hold for now and will probably start it up again in the fall when the kids are back in school. It's petty theft but it hurts the customer and the business.🤷‍♀️

All chill now and ready to enjoy the rest of the day. :)

Home again home again jiggety jig. Been here since 11ish but had to, as we say in the South, "set a spell" with a glass of tea. Then set the sprinkler because it's overcast so the sun won't burn the flowers. The sprinkler is going to be the sum total of garden work today.

DGD finally got moved from a bed in a hospital hallway to a real room. Since there weren't any other rooms available, she lucked out and got a huge private room in a new wing. It even has a view. After getting the classy room, they even brought her a liquid diet. Nothing special, but better than ice chips!

The offending gallstone decided to take a hike. They were hoping that would happen which is why they kept doing MRIs so they're going to operate today. Having that stone gone will make removing the gall bladder a lot simpler. Surgery was scheduled for 10...2 1/2 hours ago. Still waiting! And she has to stay again tonight.

pleased to hear your DGD is in a better place , and in less pain before her surgery.. she's lucky the stone dissolved on it's own..I'm surprised they're still going ahead with the surgery.

I had as the consultant described it ''dozens'' of stones in my GB when they took mine out

I've been meaning to ask..GIGI.. why do southerners in the USA say 'set' instead of Sit... it's always intrigued me

@hollydolly There are lots of gallstones, but that particular one was right at the gallbladder/pancreas "intersection" which would have presented the danger of, I guess, nicking the pancreas. That wouldn't be good.

Why do southerners say "set" instead of sit? Beats me. How about describing something as very pretty: "purtier than a speckled pup settin' under a red wagon.":D

"C'mon over and set a spell.":D
"Set a spell and have a glass of tea.":D

When I was in OK, my hosts and I went to a fair. There was a park bench with a sign written on notebook paper attached:

"Wet Paint, do not set here".
Someone crossed out the word set and wrote above it; sit. :ROFLMAO:

A couple of days ago I strained my knee so yesterday I was hobbled with my old cane most of the day. Getting better toward dinner. Today I am mostly back to normal. Whew. I like pain free much better. How you doing? I have relatives living in S.C. and its just Southern Slang For high humidity and adoptive terms.

This morning the birdies woke me up at 4:30,tried to get back to sleep on/off until 5 :40. I got up&dressed walked outside at 6,walked to store to buy NYT,coming back I saw 2 rabbits, baby{ so cute}& its mother. They ignored me chewing on grass. I watered plants/ flowers in our garden. After breakfast, took bus to grocery store,Tops for a couple items, was home within 45 min
My 'spur of the moment' mid morning walk around 10:30, I walked over to Marcia&Dave's house, had an article for them. She wasn't home, dropped article in their mailbx, all of a sudden I heard dog's barking . I saw Dave a couple houses down the street, I yelled out' Hey Buddy',Tage's ears perked up,got so excited as I walked towards them He started pulling Dave who is a tall guy 6'3 to me. I went on their continued walk around the block, came back in the house stayed for 20 min. It was the highlight of my day

That would be sweet tea I bet. My iced tea is right here but there's not a grain of sugar in it.
It's ok, you can say, 'Well, bless your heart'. :ROFLMAO:
