Preparing for Christmas in JULY (Aussie tradition) open log fire and 7 Guests and turkey of course, and yes Christmas pudding too!🦃
This year I'm looking forward to that. One of my window candles broke and you can't find a reasonable price until the Christmas stuff comes out.
I know that's not what you're talking about but it reminded me.
Several of my neighbors keep candles in their windows all year. At first I poo pooed it but it makes for nice safety lighting and it's pretty so I do it too.
I do like your idea of Christmas in July though!...........oh and not QVC's!

Morning breakfast clubbers!!! Well got thru that stormy weather last eve
without problems, for me anyway...lots of power outage down in kansas
city areas....some minor flooding, lots of trees down also...only got about'
1/2 inch of rain out of the mess....ah well....got some bills here to pay
today...and got some thick books to read from the bank that is being
taken over by another bank, rules and regs ya'know!!!! Lordy don't know
if I can understand all this stuff.....Hope my friend will show up to help
me hook up this new tv.....we will see...take care all !!!! :geek: ;)

Must stay in & wait for delivery that should be here at or before 1pm. Then, must go to bank Again as yesterday forgot to bring a check with me that needs cashing. After that, must do some local shopping and pick up more drugs from my dealer, CVS. Their product is never fun.

Oh, I like this. I have some old style candles that I put in my windows at Christmas. I think I would like them there all the time too. My neighbors will think the old lady finally flipped out. I may have to wait until it's time to get the decorations down and then just keep them out for next year. 🕯️

Have you ever noticed how one thing leads to another? A package I've been waiting for arrived yesterday, 2 days late, not from Amazon. So, I was trying on the slacks that I had ordered and they made me think of a pair I haven't seen for awhile so I started looking for them. I finally found them but not before I had "found" other things that I want to do something with and now my bed is covered with clothes that need to repaired, given away, donated or just plain trashed. And there goes Saturday. 🤷‍♀️

lol...that sounds like a perfect description of a typical day for me too... you're not alone..:D

I'm home.

It's hot. The promised rain☔ isn't happening and probably won't:mad:.

DD hasn't left the hospital with DGD yet. No idea when they'll be outta there.

Sir showed up in the bakery around 9 this morning just to say hello, then promptly left. He'd been there for hours doing administrative crap. What? Memorial service in OK was postponed because of the heat. He said he'd be there tomorrow. Early:ROFLMAO:. Sir showing up early is as likely as me spending money on anything except flowers and ice cream.

Transferred Lady's vacay starts tomorrow.

That would be sweet tea I bet. My iced tea is right here but there's not a grain of sugar in it.
It's ok, you can say, 'Well, bless your heart'. :ROFLMAO:
Not American but due to travels, fell in love with iced tea. You can say it's sweet lol! One large jug, 6 teabags, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1/2 Rose's Lime Cordial and one cup of sugar. Steep teabags for 10 minutes, squeeze out.

Put tea into glass jug as it should be cooler by now. Add lemon and lime, plus sugar. Let it cool an hour, pour over ice cubes, enjoy!

Anyone in the mood for Sookie's Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes, green beans and milk gravy? Louisiana best taste experience...

Hand washed & vacuumed inside the car & trunk (boot as called in the UK) today. It's amazing how much debris ends up in the trunk of the car. There was a small pile of dirt in there I guess from when I was transporting garden soil earlier this spring? I figured I go the extra bit and then waxed the exterior and buffed it well afterwards. Nice & shiny & clean now. Hadn't done that in awhile. I also put the Rain-X treatment on the exterior windows. That stuff is a godsend when you're driving in the rain. Don't really even have to use the windshield wipers. Water just rolls off like magic 🪄
My Father while working as parts manager, had access to very top of the range weird products to clean his car. One was a purple washing liquid which smelled of lavenders.

The finishing rinse goop, giggled and vibrated in the jar but it gave a wonderful anything proof finish. You could see yourselves in the car's forest green panels, it was as shiny as mirrors.

Never had the chance to find out what these products were. Bummer!

However, haven't had a car since 2011...

As I've mentioned that we are trying to sell, some of hubby's tractors using area free shopper.

Our phone number is with the ad.

I answered the phone expecting someone asking about tractors,,,nope sounded like sales person.
He starts telling me its not a scam.
My answer is "I'm not interested in whatever you are selling,, Good-bye."

He calls right back,, I didn't answer the phone.

I look up the number that came up on caller ID,,,,,porn pictures comes up.
:mad::oops:

Yesterday, a young fellow was at our door and started with a friendly hello. I instantly started shutting the door as I said I wasn’t interested. He started in with ‘oh, we’re just contacting everyone that has natural gas.’ By that point the door was closed on his face. I turned to my husband and commented that I’d been polite. Apparently not totally. Guess I told the guy that ‘I don’t give a da**’.

This is a well-known scam business group that preys on seniors. He was nice looking, clean cut and fit. There are a lot of other honest jobs out there. He should get one.

I noticed that my neighbours tolerated him at the door much longer than I did.

Yesterday, Friday 7/14, attended the first of 3 Dead & Company shows at the SF Giants stadium Oracle Park. Had a nosebleed seat but with an excellent view down below. Have a second such ticket for Sunday. This morning an acquaintance chose not to use a highly desired and valuable to sell GA field ticket for today Saturday, so just had Ticketmaster transfer that to my email, so YES am going again today and be down on the ball field that I much envied yesterday. The GA field is all standing room only with lots of space to move about freely behind the many crowding the stage. That is the way all rock concerts were in the 1970s and IMO how rock ought be experienced on one's feet. Otherwise really little way to dance anywhere with a view of stage from cramped stadium seats. The flat open ball field has been in high demand with lowest resale prices today at $600. Interestingly 90% that have GA field tickets just crowd around the stage so that is just to get closest to musicians. Will decide tomorrow morning whether to use or sell my Sunday ticket.

Been a very stormy day here... fortunately my garden is pretty much enclosed.. altho' a little more open since the demise of the big tree... so I've had to rescue some pot plants which blew over.. and the parasol, altho' closed with it's cover on.. was in danger of breaking the wooden table that it's slotted into the middle of by leaning heavily on it's side..so I took that down and put it in the barn.. but the wind is very noisy indeed...

My daughter otoh.. had a huge amount of garden items blown around and smashed..

The winds are calming down now... at just after 9pm.. as the sun is starting to go down...

I've been looking at more properties today. I was sent a property which is in Norwich, which is a small city here in the East of England about 2 hours north of me.. but right on the Norfolk Broads which are a huge network of Canals, extremely popular with Boaters.. and wildlife etc.. Think Florida Keys without the Gators and the heat..lol......Norfolk the county is an extremely popular vacation area.. and Norwich is it's capital city..

Anyway the property is just a 10 minute walk from the city centre which has the train station, and all that a city offers, but not on the scale of London.. about a 20 min drive to the aforesaid Broads.....I've been looking for something in a safe area, but close to all amenities, like transport ( trains go directly into London).. and Doctors, hospitals and entertainment..which Norwich has ... and further to that under 2 hours from my daughter in the opposite direction...

I've asked for more details...about the property... so we'll see what transpires, but at this juncture I'm quite hopeful

Another Saturday night and I ain't got nobody🎶 (thanks Sam Cooke). I need to get a life...been watching this thread for nearly two hours and nobody's posting anything. I'd have posted but to say what?

DGD is home safe and sound and feeling much better. DD has gone off to get her (and us) some groceries. She says she's gonna drop off DGD's stuff, come home, put the groceries away and then sleep for the next four days.

I need a haircut. And some ice cream.

My post is about my answering this thread's subject line- and in the same process I am also venting.
I understand that this post is vague.
I prefer not to reveal anything to specific or personal on the internet.
I do hope that nobody will be offended or will be angry.

I am sixty years old.
I have baggage from the past, the recent past and current.
Various issues or problems.
I have been trying to find solutions to those different kinds of problems or issues.
I continue not finding or not getting answers that will work for me or fit into my current situation.
Update:
I have spoken to the council on aging and my area's elder care.
At this time, it appears there is nothing that would be a good fit for my situations.

I said a prayer in memory of my (late) grandfather.
I put my cooked meatloaf in the freezer.
Later in the day I began a shopping list.

My online of water filters/cartridges arrived.
After I put them away I then decided to go back and check to see if I was sent the correct AP110 product.
No mistakes, other than my going back to check.
