In Canada at the strip clubs, a pastie has a totally different meaning. Let your imagination run wild......We also refer to the strip clubs as the "Blue Collar Opera House ". Jimb.I could use a pasty right now.
Actually ..they've always tasted Crap...really disgusting. When we were teens my brother loved nothing more than to eat one of those Goblin S&K Puddings... to me it was vile, but to him it was delicious. Some years later he had one again.. and couldn't believe that he'd ever liked themBack in the early 1960's here in Toronto me Mum would buy me ( as a special treat ) a one pound tin of Goblin Steak and Kidney Pudding. Open the top of the tin with a can opener, sit it in boiling hot water for 20 minutes, then turn it out onto a plate, and enjoy. Add salt and black ground pepper to taste. The pudding had a outside that was soft and the inside was a tasty mix of beef bits, kidneys, and broth. Goblin brand is still made in the UK, but the product is not anywhere near to what I remember. I ordered 2 from the UK, and to put it mildly........It was crap. JimB.
