Lost Crisps

I watched a documentary yesterday about "pasty" from Scotland I think..
sure looked good, wish I could get some here.....;)
I'll tell ya where I had some, Hawk... at a British Pub (right here in the U.S.) believe it or not. They served British, Irish, and Scottish food. Also had my first Bangers and Mash there. @hawkdon

It would be called a Bridie in Scotland, yes?
yes a Forfar Bridie in Scotland.. but usually only available in the East of Scotland..Dundee , Edinburgh etc ... a little different to look at than a Pasty.. . The Bridie is made from Flaky Pastry , but the Cornish Pasty is made from shortcrust pastry

..and FYI>.Scottish food and Irish food doesn't vary from country to country..it's the same in Scotland as it is in Ireland ...sorry you wasted that useless snippet of Info...:ROFLMAO:

I didn't say it was the same I said...*sigh*...that Scottish food is the same in Scotland.. and Irish food is the same in Ireland...
Okay.... that's fine. Maybe it's a language barrier. 🤭 We'll let it go at that. Obviously
I didn't know what you were saying with "food doesn't vary from country to country..it's the same in Scotland as it is in Ireland" ... and apparently read it in a different way. In any case, have yourself a good Saturday, Holly.

Back in the early 1960's here in Toronto me Mum would buy me ( as a special treat ) a one pound tin of Goblin Steak and Kidney Pudding. Open the top of the tin with a can opener, sit it in boiling hot water for 20 minutes, then turn it out onto a plate, and enjoy. Add salt and black ground pepper to taste. The pudding had a outside that was soft and the inside was a tasty mix of beef bits, kidneys, and broth. Goblin brand is still made in the UK, but the product is not anywhere near to what I remember. I ordered 2 from the UK, and to put it mildly........It was crap. JimB.

Actually ..they've always tasted Crap...really disgusting. When we were teens my brother loved nothing more than to eat one of those Goblin S&K Puddings... to me it was vile, but to him it was delicious. Some years later he had one again.. and couldn't believe that he'd ever liked them
