I know I am getting old

She turned 60 last week.
We haven't got any children so you might think that wouldn't happen. Yeah right! When my wife's sister passed away a few months ago we met up with a couple of nieces at the funeral that we hadn't seen for many a year. One was 61 and the other 59, talk about freak me out. it also brought back a reminisce when my father said much the same when I turned 60.

We must have been out of control back in the late 50's-early 60's. Our 4 kids, all married with a flock of grands and great grands are now 66, 65, 63, and 62.

We still get to see them all on a fairly regular basis and they inter-act amongst themselves. Families can be a "mixed bag", some good some not so good but we've been one of the lucky ones and will be forever thankful for our good fortune.

you must be around the same age as my parents would have been :giggle:

is that your baby..or the family Baby ?...

My little sister who is the family Baby will be 61 this Christmas...she was only 10 years old when my mother died and she has zero recollection of her
Our son is 62, his 2 sisters are older, that makes him the baby of the family.

Old? I tried to make a phone call using the tv remote. Realized there weren't any numbers on it. Picked up phone and was going to use it to change tv channels because I forgot that the intention was to make a phone call to begin with :ROFLMAO:

In simpler times we didn't have "devices." Actually in simpler times we didn't have remotes for the tv. We got up and walked to the tv to change the channel. Even simpler than that? We didn't have tv.

Isn't it a shame that we only meet up with family at funerals.?

My cousin always contacted me when a family member died. Then he died and no one told me for a couple of months. They’re used to be oodles of cousins. Now there are only six left and everyone is over 70. Those numbers just shocked me.

I told family members "Don't come to my funeral, come and see me while I'm still alive". My father used to visit a nursing home where my grandmother was a patient and entertained the people with his ukulele, they loved him. One day he didn't come, and the matron said, "Where were you, we missed you". Dad said, "I was asked to sing at a funeral", and she said, "Why sing to the dead? sing to the living, they can still hear you."
