If you could reincarnate as an animal, which one/s would you choose?

I would like to be a dog. I would like a loving owner and then I would be one of those happy-go-lucky kind of dog. :)

A good post from another forum inspired the thread.

"Not sure if I would like to be reincarnated as a smart Coon, but being a Crow would be cool. Other real animals I would like to evolve more intelligence would be Gibbons in a Planet of the Apes scenario, since swinging through the trees via Brachiation would be the next best thing to flying, or maybe a Cheetah since it would be fun to run really fast and do 0-60 faster than a Ferrari. Being a Rabbit might be fun, since you could BLEEP more cute Bunnies than Hef did. lol. If a water dwelling animal gets brainy, I'll hope for an Octopus, since 8 appendages would be handy. I think I would be bored being a shark or whale since just swimming around would be tiresome."

I think a turtle who carries her protective home with her. Though I know they do not only live in their shell but dig a hole in the cool earth where they can relax and not worry about someone coming along to capture them. I am an introvert and I think living in my shell would be comfy. I would not live in an area where the people like to eat turtles.

When I was in prep school, my teacher asked the question if you would like to be an animal for a day, what would you choose. I chose the giraffe. I have always loved giraffes.
Later on in life I learnt that the giraffe spirit animal is a symbol of awareness.

Hubby took me to Nairobi /Kenya one year for our anniversary to have tea with the giraffes.

A wolverine. A secretive protected species that no one or nothing wants to mess with.
Fascinating animal. I found a novel a while back about these creatures and was entranced. Seems it is utterly fearless, strong and dangerous. The fictional story was about a hunter who captured one, only to regret it because it escaped and then hunted HIM. I forget the title.

Found it - 'Carcajou the Wolverine ' by Rutherford G Montgomery. Great read for all ages.

Definitely a cat. Lay around all day in a patch of sunlight and expect people to cater to me.

If I so pleased, I *might* extend a smidgen of gratitude by gifting a sh!tload of my fur on their new black pants, but then again that might be too much work. Let the servants come to me.....
A cat thinks it is god because people feed it. A dog thinks people are god because they feed him.
It's all about perspective I suppose.
