Treats for your dogs

I decided to make some cookies/treats for my dog with my own stuff in my own kitchen. I know enough to know my ingredients are safe and good for dogs. I didn't measure, but eyeballed stuff and they came out great!

1 lb Ground 93% lean turkey
An Egg
Peanut butter (all natural, Xylitol free)
Canned pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
Greek yogurt, plain
Little bit Flour
Little bit Ground flax seed
Rolled oats

Patted small lumps of mixture down into small, thin dabs on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
In the oven for about 40 minutes at 325f, cooled on a rack.
Got about 46 "cookies". She loves them, and they taste fine to me, too.

I will pack individual sandwich bags of 7 or 8 for the freezer.

This sounds wonderful. Would you have an idea how much of each ingredient is needed?
Oh gosh, you want to stir and "feel" for a meatloaf type consistency.

1 pound 93% lean ground turkey

I'll guess....
3/4 can pumpkin puree

Maybe 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt.

God knows how much peanut butter... maybe 1/2 cup? Maybe less.

1 large egg.

Enough ground flax seed, flour and rolled oats to get it firm.

Oats will take up moisture, so let sit a bit.

When the second batch came out, I sprinkled them w/ shredded Mozzarella I had. It melted nicely.

*note-
Flaxseed is a super-fiber. Pumpkin offers fiber too, as do oats. Maybe leave out the ground flaxseed.

I do not intend to offer these treats more than 2 or 3 times a day, depending on size of my sloppy- shaped treats.

Thanks. Meatloaf consistency I can relate to. That helps.

I’ll be getting some ground turkey on Friday. If I can’t find any I’ll substitute ground chicken.
I’ve got a big bone cookie cutter and am hoping this dough is rollable. If it isn’t, I’ll make it rollable. I’m looking forward to making these. I shall shows photos when complete.

Thanks Rosie.

That sounds cool. I don't think mine was rollable, but then I never thought of it. I'd love to see your pics.

(I haven't had film in my camera for a few years and my phone is dead)

I'm going to copy that if that's ok with you RR. Sounds delicious! I may even have one! :)
