I watch "How the Universe Works" and "Wonders of the Solar System" on the Science Channel. There is always talk of "Earth-like" exoplanets that could be habitable, or creating an atmosphere on Mars, etc. so that Mankind can survive on a new home.
My thoughts: how about we FIX this planet(Earth), it's close by and convenient, we're used to it, we wouldn't have to pack up our stuff to move somewhere else. View attachment 299052
The more I look into experts looking into the possibility of humans living on another planet, the more I'm convinced they aren't doing it so we can escape Earth if things go horribly south, but to get closer to planets with valuable resources so we can exploit them (too).I watch "How the Universe Works" and "Wonders of the Solar System" on the Science Channel. Humankind has repeatedly swung back and forth between periods of excess evil and periods of excess greatness, maybe forever. I could be wrong, but I don't think that pendulum will ever cease.I really, really wish I had a more optimistic view of humanity, but I don't think all the technology in the world will save mankind. I have seen the nature of man, and my outlook is grim. The human species is a violent one, and collectively is ruining the planet we live on. Too many seek power, and it corrupts absolutely. I hope more than anything that I'm wrong, but I don't think so.
