Apologies? Did anyone apologize?

Did any vaxxed people apologize to you for the things they said and did and how they treated you like a germ during the pandemic instead of a human? If you made fun of someone wearing a mask, did you apologize to them? We dish it out but when we're wrong we don't apologize to those we've hurt and it's important because our countries may lock us down and mask us up all over again due to " a covid variant in the U.K. that is more dangerous and contagious..."

Chic, I'm not sure I understand your post or the picture. Are we supposed to apologize to people because they are attractive? šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

As I've stated numerous times here, with me, no vaccination, no employment. I'm single, self supporting with cats to support and ferals to feed.

I've never bothered anyone vaxed or not, wearing a mask or not. I don't bother people about crap like that. I'll leave people be as I want to be left alone.

What I mean is did any vaccinated person who wanted to lock the unvaxxed up for life until they submitted to the shots apologize for his behavior? Or for excluding you from a family gathering? Or all the psychological pressure they tried to place on unvaxxed people at the behest of the government instead of blaming the government for unfair mandates? Get vaccinated with novel gene therapy or be excluded from society is not a free choice. It's coercion at it's worst.

Chic, I understood what you meant but I don't know of any apologies and from the threads I've read here I sincerely doubt that any vaxxers would ever apologize to people that they may have been rude to. Vaxxers still seem like true believers of the harsh kind to me. :ROFLMAO:

I am vaxxed but not a vaxxer so no one would have hassled me and I certainly didn't hassle anyone either way. We had both vaxxers and resisters in our family and had no trouble between us. My oldest daughter encouraged me to be vaxxed but she was encouraging, never hostile.

I played the encouraging role with my son but left him to his choice when he said no. I thought it was interesting how it all played out with him though. He got really sick and we all thought it must be Covid but when he was tested it wasn't. It scared him though so he got vaxxed after that. Several months after being vaxxed he did get Covid. He had a light case and I hope the vaccine helped it be light but nobody really knows, some just think they do.

Yes. They announced that those who had been vaccinated get it lighter than those who weren't, but they announced that VERY early on (like two months after the vaccine was introduced), when they couldn't possibly have known. There is other information, but anyone can look it up. I'm not going to go into it.

And, no, no one apologized to me about having blamed us for not being vaccinated, as if we were threatening their very lives.

It was illogical, though: if the vaccine actually worked the way they claimed it did, why would it matter who wasn't vaccinated?

Thanks for the clarification. Was it coercion? In my case yes, and I had no choice. I was an essential worker and we had a few people quit over the vax mandate. One eventually got it and came back to work, two left, never to return. There were probably more.

I also heard a certain cable station that was anti vax had all their employees vaxed. This is rumor but I've heard it from more than one source.

People who have a hard line position on something are likely to never apologize. I heard of people having events outdoors during the pandemic. Weather permitting. Or keeping things small and video chatting with others instead of big gatherings. I have no doubt there were people who exclaimed 'don't come around here if you're not vaxed." But what can one do?

I recieved quite a bit of scorn....not so much now, know why? several have blood clots myocarditious mysterious joint pain- all a few years after the vax and other mysterious ailments they did not have prior- some of these folks I know very well they thought I was tin foil hat guy....maybe so, but my, -insert the body part you want here- is still intact and did not fall off yet-

there still is a huge split among vaxed and unvaxed ...as far as socializing small talk exchange etc...very sad deal....my ex has a horrible myocarditis never had covid but shots my gym buddy had both now clots and other issues --vaxed and once my casual friends are forever gone, and the relationships never to be revived...but for the few who will admit it..new friends and that is the only reason.

Luckily I did not receive any scorn in real life and feel no hostility against anyone except the authors and protagonists of this tragedy though I doubt at present they will ever be brought to justice.

@chic
Many people that i know that did say vile things.... now Pretend they never did ....
a few said they did not know but after it played out, they see now there was some bullying and things were not exactly as sold.... I think those i have spoken too THINK that is an apology....
Have heard Many in my circle of friends/ acquaintance gripe that public employees who were able to get their job back some were awarded back pay and those so upset at that fact .....now THINK that was an apology.

I never held anything against anyone who chose or were forced into getting the shots .. but those close in my world that made comments I will remember and chose to take any further opinion of theirs with a grain of salt.

No one came to see us during the lock down or had any big family gatherings so no one had a chance to offend anyone else.

I did have a woman glare at me and shake her head in Kroger because i was a still wearing a mask a few weeks after the mask thing had been lifted (I had health issues going on at the time.) I didn't see why she cared, but I don't think she owes me an apology. I'm tempted to mask up in public again this winter because my family all got bad cases of pneumonia last year and I don't want us to go there again.

If someone had invited me to their house and asked me to wear a mask or get vaccinated first, I wouldn't expect them to apologize to me now. Whatever science finally decides about all this, people were just trying to keep their families safe according to the information they had at the time. Nothing wrong with that, that I can see.

Chic…I did not treat any unvaxxed person badly. It’s not my style… I kept away from them though. Of course I agree with exceptions for people who because of their immune system, could not have the vaccine, but I still kept my distance. I have to be honest.

No unvaxxed person made fun of me for wearing a mask and I was wearing one long after the worst was over.

Chic, maybe it's time to let this subject go?

During the pandemic (which is probably not yet over, there are new variants), people chose whether to believe the findings and advice of science, or the self-serving trumpetings of ignoramuses. It's a free country, and we can follow any path we choose.

We can also freely express our opinion of those who by choice are following a path that is dangerous and has been frequently fatal, to themselves and others. That is known as free speech in this country. But about making fun of anyone wearing a mask, who on earth does that? I have seen lots of people wearing masks for all sorts of reasons, and most of us have had to wear them in many different places, especially during the height of the pandemic. I have never heard of anyone being "made fun" of. You sound like a kid complaining about schoolyard taunts.

And as someone else has pointed out, what on earth does that picture have to do with anything? I'm really having trouble understanding any point you are trying to make.

I wonder if some of those pictures are Chic. :)
Maybe so. As far as I remember they are always tasteful so I'm at a loss as to why some people are bothered by them.

There are lots of threads posted here that don't interest me but they do interest other people. I just scroll on by and say nothing.

If "it's a free country, we can freely follow, freely express" then what's the problem with this thread?

I think Chic uses pictures from her vast collection the way some of us use emoticons. In the above case the girl looks sort of hurt and at the same time accusatory. Perfect for someone expecting an apology.

I may start using pictures the same way only I'll find someone who looks more like me.

I only had the initial jab.

Everyone else I know in real life has had them all (which is either 4 or 5 now). Not to mention the flu and shingles jabs on top of all the Covid jabs.

I'm not an antivaxxer - I believe in people making their own decisions and doing what they want to themselves.

I took all the precautions and was rarely in the company of others anyway, except for shopping - (and to this day I still sanitise shopping trolleys and hands regularly etc).

No one in real life ever made me feel I was evil and it was all my fault it wouldn't go away. But one of my last forums called those like me (either one jabber or no jabbers) with such hatred and venom it was astonishing.
And, no in answer to your question, none of those people ever apologised.

I work in healthcare, and Covid was the worst health scare in my life time. A thousand times worse than polio. I wore masks and shields. I hated them, but did not complain. My anger was directed towards all of the people, politicians, & news/media sources that were down playing it, even as millions of people were dying all over the world.

As of this month in 2023, there were 103,436,829 confirmed cases of Covid in the U.S. The number of deaths among Americans from Covid was: 1,127,152. The number of deaths the world over is 6,909,374.

I apologize to no one for lecturing or reminding people how deadly Covid was/is. The first time Covid struck, ten residents in our nursing home were killed. None of them were vaccinated. Their narrow minded heartless relatives, didn't want them vaccinated. I had nothing but anger and hatred towards those ignorant people. Those 10 residents were our dear friends. They were like family to us. Then they died. We still miss them.

Stupid people listening to stupid people, so their mothers and fathers had to die.

Sounds like you are still really angry. The first time Covid struck there was no vaccine, remember?

As for COVID and masks! I never wore one and I never apologized to anyone for not wearing one. The 'few' people who asked me about it got my very specific explanation regarding the size of a virus vs. the size of space between the fabric in masks.

People need to stop following and start questioning a doing their own research.... this is just one good example!

I make plenty of mistakes and seem to often be consistently apologizing but I never hassled anyone during the pandemic regardless of their decision to vaccinate or not. Since I moved, I had to be vaccinated so I did once and had a booster. That’s all I had.

Nobody hassled me but I didn’t go around telling anyone either. I basically just kept it to myself.

I couldn’t get vaccinations when I was a kid and didn’t know why. I had to do research and discover what it was I was allergic too. The preservative they used in older vaccinations was penicillin. Luckily they no longer use it but that worried me. I am deathly allergic to it . Throat instantly closes up.

Whether people took the vaccine I thought was a personal choice. One of my nephews and his girlfriend refused to get vaccinated.
Some friends and neighbours didn’t either and it didn’t bother me , mainly because, it’s none of my business what decisions others make for themselves and they have the right to make those choices without feeling threatened by others.

Not to my knowledge. i did not hassle unmasked people, tho i did make my displeasure clear if some stranger was crowding me in a store, especially at checkout where you're kind of boxed in at a certain point and can NOT move away from them as you can on an aisle.

My daughter manages small local motel in our small town. Many people during the pandemic harangued her about the inner lobby being closed and service being thru a window, her wearing a mask and cleaning the 'desk' area of window between each guest. Usually ones from Texas, Arizona (she knew because check-in requires ID).

None ever apologized to her. If they got particularly strident about it, ignoring her mention of state mandates and rules her bosses put in place then she would mention her 70 something mother and they would drop the subject--out of hundreds over course of pandemic only a handful even acknowledged her precautions 'understandable' much less apologized for fussing about it all to her.

She started mentioning me sooner in these unpleasant exchanges because at least stopped the unproductive as well as unpleasant nonsense so she could get them checked in. Predictably such people never seemed to care that others were standing outside in heat or cold waiting to enter the 10 X 4 ft enclosed space to check in. She told me she felt kind of bad cause i am pretty healthy/fit for my age, but it stopped the fussing and they didn't need to know i'm not some frail thing.
