Spectrum internet went up AGAIN

Mine went up $15, ticks me off because I thought I had a two year rate lock. But oh no, I got a "promotional rate" garunteed not to exceed their standard rate for two years.

My friend switched to Verizon and is happy as can be, 100% wireless and they haven't had any issues.

I don't mean to sound heartless but I believe this is called "Free Enterprise." Your company loves money (forget the B.S. about "Our Customers Come First). It's your money in their bank that comes first. Of course, you can and should cancel your subscription if there are other and cheaper providers. If you have no where else to turn to, then I must say that you are "royally screwed."

You are royally screwed...that should be Spectrum's marketing catchphrase. At least people will know upfront what they're getting into!

I have no other cable services around here unfortunately. There's a fiber optic company starting to install in our town and they are cheaper than Spectrum, so when I get the chance, Spectrum will be "royally" dumped!

I, too am sorry to hear that your Internet Provider,Carol,
has hiked the price, which is a lot for only broadband, I
get TV, house phone, 2 mobiles and broadband for £46
per month.

This got me thinking, can anybody apply for an I.P. in
any other country, where the price is more acceptable?

In the 1990s when I first got on the Internet, I joined
AOL, "America On Line", an American company, in
America, no office here, but they eventually, or maybe
they were told to, shut down, the UK people were rubbish
at that time.

It might be possible today with VPN, unless there is an
unwritten rule, that stops you from doing so?

Mike.

@Mike , Spectrum has a monopoly here. I've read it's very expensive for other cable companies to set up business in a new area. I don't know if a satellite service from any other place would work, but I feel cable is more stable. I think I'll just wait for the fiber optic.

If you get fiber installed in your area, go for it. Our local electric Co-op installed fiber a couple of years ago, and we signed up...it is Great. Our Internet (100MB), landline phone, and TV(200 channels) is about $150/Mo., and the service/reception is the best we've ever had.
