Spanish players furore over bring kissed

Lasted twist being reported is that the Spanish Football Federation will take legal action against the player Jenni Hermoso's comments about its president Luis Rubiales.

it’s also being reported that after Jenni Hermoso lifted the president clear of the floor, he asked her for a kiss. Jenni now allegedly saying it was a spontaneous and mutual gesture.

Some reports seem to be saying that some of the earlier statements made but Jenni weren’t actually her words.

The plot thickens.
Yes Magna, read it this morning. They fought before the start and now this nonsense woke rubbish has taken precedence over winning the World Cup. Really it is not on the same level as the "Hand of God" incident.
Anyway I watched on TV the 1966 world cup, the not over the line incident and I was standing right next to the World Cup Trophy at the Stamp Exhibition when it was nicked and later found by a dog named Pickles. That nearly started a war with Brazil.

It seems to be that often news reports are ‘driven’ by the media reporting them, and at times then being blown out of proportion because of that. Sometimes ending up in everyone taking ‘action’ against everyone else. And then the truth getting lost in it all.

Even now, several days after the event or incident, I don’t think the truth is yet entirely clear.

We can still debate in forums though. Sometimes as self appointed judge, jury and executioner.

Executives from World Cup soccer and teams are notorious for corruption which there's a probably a culture of they can do what ever they want. That being said this could wind up a she said he said.

The Spanish FA President, Luis Rubiales, has been 'provisionally' suspended after he threatened to sue footballer Jenni Hermoso amid World Cup kiss 'lies'.

In an extraordinary statement released today, the crisis-ridden organisation has confirmed that Rubiales is now barred from all 'football-related activities at national and international level' for 90 days.

Rubiales has also been banned from making any contact with Hermoso and 'her close environment', with the 'no further information' to be revealed until a final decision has been made.

'FIFA reiterates its absolute commitment to respect the integrity of all persons and therefore condemns with the utmost vigor any behavior to the contrary,' the association added.

Hermoso, 33, said through the Spanish players' union FUTPRO that she 'felt vulnerable and a victim of an impulse-driven, sexist, out of place act' after Rubiales kissed her following Spain's 1-0 victory over England on Sunday.

Holly molly! What's all the fuss. The culture there see's kissing for happy congratulations all the time. The public is not "shocked" by this. If they are then Spain has gone WOKE. Put things in perspective and it is no big deal. Nothing really happened. Nothing sexual. She gets her "space" invaded all the time, especially on the field. :)

This kind of crap makes me not want to watch professional ANYTHING! 😡

Misogyny runs deep in Spanish culture. For example. There was a recent sex, shoul assault trial involving a young woman and multiple men. They became known as The Wolf Pack. They were acquitted of raepe, convicted of a lesser

charge. Why? There was no physical violence involved? Wut? This galvanised a strong feminist response, and an equally strong opposite reaction

from the far right, who wailed about men being victimised. As for the young woman who was forcibly kissed. This is assault. Absolutely nothing friendly about it. The crotch grabbing individual who committed this egregious act deserves to pay the price!

What's the true reality here? Hours after the game it was reported that Jenni Hermoso's official statement to the press was:

"It was a completely spontaneous mutual gesture due to the immense joy of winning a World Cup."

"The president and I have a great relationship; his behaviour towards all of us has been exemplary, and it was a natural expression of affection and gratitude."

"There’s no need to overanalyse a gesture of friendship and gratitude; we’ve won a World Cup, and we won’t stray from what’s important."

Friday, in response to Rubiales refusal to resign, and his assertion the kiss was mutual, Jenni Hermoso described his version of events as “categorically false.” She said she “felt vulnerability, and a victim of an

impulse-drive sxist , out of place act without any consent on my part. Simply put, I was not respected.” I am not surprised by her initial reaction of downplaying the event, trying to smooth things over. Fear is a

powerful motivator, in a lopsided power dynamic. Did she feel intimidated? I bet my license she did! Good for her for finding her voice.

It seems there might be a lot of kissing going on, where this man is concerned. When it's done in public, whether invited, asked consent for or not; when millions of people might be watching. The initial reactions of people involved, and shortly after, might not be representative of the realities. And of the realities of what was felt at the time.

EDIT/Update: The thought of not wanting to make a scene at the time of the incident is usually strong in many. I think it's fair to say we have all experienced that type of thing, to one degree or another. The seriousness of an initial incident being played dawn by the person at first. Then any 'reality' of the incident only being felt afterward. That's not to play it down due to a change in words.

I think at times it's a natural human behavioral thing. We suppress our thoughts and feelings, for whatever reason, and sometimes dismissing them in ourselves. Then reflecting and reacting to the reality later? We might even go around in circles doing both.

So the long line to kiss the new bride "on the lips" is fine.? But to kiss a lesbian on the lips who is an entitled professional icon, that's different. Fight, that is all we want to do is fight. Oh...better take down the mistletoe also.

From my experience of going to weddings. The very happy bride wanting to receive a gentle kiss from many there, and the people there wanting to kiss the happy bride on the cheek, has always seemed to be a happy and mutual thing for all concerned. Displayed as such by all at the time and after.

This event was happy and a celebration. I am not sure the bride liked all her kisses on the mouth. I think it is a rather disgusting ritual.

“Entitled professional icon?” And what does being a lesbian have to do with it? Straight women don’t like forcible kisses either.

Much of this country think it is OK to grab women by the P*^sy if you have enough power. Go figure.

It's said that this type of thing is what 'power' does it people. I'd partly disagree, the want for some to do these things is already thair. The lack of respect and everything that goes along with it is already there. Just waiting for the 'power' later gained or given brings it out more?

If it was never there in the first place, partly hiding away in the background, 'power' might have nothing to bring out.

That is all this is, more click bait about wealthy powerful people whom we seem to believe are setting the standards for the culture. It is clickbait that will make the team that much more money and power, and they know it.( even if unconsciously )

Only if it is regarded as an 'expected' ritual, which, in my opinion, is a separate matter. I'm not aware of an expected ritual of everyone kissing the bride on the mouth.

Kissing on the mouth at a wedding directed towards the bride isn't something I would consider an expected tradition. It strikes me as somewhat odd. A kiss on the lips, in my view, should be exclusive to the bride and groom, should they wish to partake.
