What are you doing today 2023

Looks like the hurricane will go north of us, but we might get some wind and rain. I'll try to fit my car in the garage but with a large SUV and a Harley in there already, it'll be a tight fit for sure. Trash bins will come in.

We have a new fence since the last blow, so I hope it fares better than the old one.

We're really not expecting much here.
I'm glad you're not expecting much jujube. Hope there's no damage your way!

Fohget the orange blossoms!!! No way! ... jussunsay'

He lives two floors above me . Same noise. The balconies are being done in lines of three, floor by floor.
Just got back and we saw that they had already removed all of the railings in the first line. The real noise happens when they cut the concrete and make repairs before the new ones go in.

The shopping trip was good and we had a coffee...but wait...don't go away.
He asked me to dinner at his place tomorrow...uhuh....I got a date age 90 ....View attachment 301229
He is cooking something special from his purchases at this gourmet shop which is horribly expensive and has
lots of yummy stuff. I don't know what he bought as we just went our own way in the shop.

Anyway GG you take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon.View attachment 301232

See y'all later
Wow Mizmo, dinner at his place. How nice to have someone cook your meal! That sounded like a fun outing at the gourmet grocery store. I would love that.

Hoping for a detailed report of the dinner. Please have fun!

@Mizmo. Now dinner? I'm tellin' ya: orange blossoms!

@hawkdon Vulture? Circling? That's not a good sign unless maybe it spotted raccoons. In that case, yay!

Okay, then. I'm still all kinds of unwell so not working the rest of the week. I'll be back on the schedule starting Sunday unless, of course, I'm a crispy critter by then. If I'm never this sick again, it's gonna be too soon.

It chaps my arse that I have to use up vacay and PTO:mad:

you have to use up vacation...for sickness ?... seriously ?

lol you're talking to someone who owns more than 20 pairs of jeans... :D
LOL, and me dear Holly Dolly, I used to have that many too. My stretchies that had kept, just in case, the 14s are alright, but the 16s and 18s are just dropping round me ankles. Oh what horrible picture lol.

Our most expensive pairs were acid jeans in the 80s. Dear at £40 each pairs. Youch!

Hubby and son, both went through their jeans at the knees. Nowadays you can pay upwards of a pair with knees already cut out for £120. Seriously not for wee me ...

Nowadays, me biggest collections are t-shirts. Oh I'm so bad ehehe...

@Jules @hollydolly I'm just part time, only 25/hrs/wk, but accrue PTO and vacation, no sick days. I don't have to use up a whole day, just five hours at a time. After this week, I'll still have two vacation days left.

Sir called me today. He's not better yet, either. We're probably both going back on Sunday. Meanwhile, he said let management worry about who's gonna work; they can borrow from other stores or shut our bakery down. He's too sick to give a rip. Me, too.

Left our Archery Club at 8pm. 45 minutes walk to main road bus stop. Got to see husband's old house where he'd grown up on bus back. Brought good memories. Finally got home 9:30pm. Kitty Kat happy to see us.

Sadly, our regular coach wasn't there. He had to go to Sheffield as his son broke his ankle apparently. We needed to let him know that it was our last night until April next year. It's way too dark on way back. Will have to email on weekend. Bummer!

Having dinner in half hour, meanwhile watching King Arthur's Legend film. Then bed, we're exhausted.

yes absolutely right.. you're neither of you going to lose your job for being sick, so just let management get someone in to do your job... they owe you big styleee..

what is PTO?

In the Uk you're entitled to sick pay as a PT worker in exactly the same was as if you're employed full time.. SSP is paid to all ..

a 45 minute walk to the bus stop ?... that's about 3 miles... whaaaat ?

I had a busy day because I finally tackled some things I've been meaning to do for a couple of weeks. Some items fell off the shelf of my walk in closet. Since then I had such a busy couple of weeks that I just never put them away. One reason is because I knew I needed to rearrange things first but hadn't made up my mind how I'd do it. I also didn't want to put the leather purses I'd used away until I cleaned and conditioned them. It was a case of I couldn't do this until I did that and couldn't do that until I did the other. But today I'd had enough. I could only go 2-1/2 feet into my closet.

So I did this, that and the other. I had some things sitting on the bedroom floor to put away too, so I found places for them while doing a little rearranging in the bedroom. In the midst of that, "Little Girl" pooped on the floor. I don't know if she was acting out (I had the bedroom door closed and she was crying to get in) or or just missed the litter box.

She tends to go close to the edges. Some of it was in the box but most was not, nor did it have any remnants of litter on it. After I cleaned that and disinfected the area, it was time to take a break. Right then a good friend called, so I relaxed and talked with her a bit. I also spoke with my honorary son who I had called because he's in Tampa, in the path of the hurricane, and I'm concerned.

I watched T.V. when I had my meals, played WWF2 and prepared three pill cases (one for travel) after my son got home. I like him to sit and talk with me when I do my meds.

great photo...:D
Thanks Holly, here's a few photos, I won't swamp the thread with pics, just a few now and then.

The jive contest is always popular but the reason for showing you this is because you can see the makeshift dancefloor. It's made up of eight feet by four feet panels and it's huge. The second photo shows you that the rain didn't dampen the festival spirits, but that dancefloor looked more like a swimming pool.

In the first photo, our friend Martin, has succumbed to the heat and dozed off, his wife, Carol, using the brolly as a parasol, loves the tease. The second photo is that of Frankie & Ollie, Frankie is the talented lady in the dress. She is another that's handy with needle and thread. The last pic is that of my lady in a dress that she made from an original press photo. Clever girl.
