A happy marriage is a blessing…..
Laura and Russell Brand…
Laura and Russell Brand…
There could some of that indeed I suspect.
I just think wait until proper evidence and a court judgment before sentencing anyone, taking their livelihood away and muddying their name forever.
It is wrong to punish any person, especially financially, for allegations made against him, even from years ago. Nothing yet proven in a court of law.
YouTube has now acted I believe unjustly.
My position is I don't like Russell Brand, but that's just my view, justice is still justice. Being disliked doesn't make a man a criminal.
None of us knows if he did anything against the law. These women may or may not be telling the truth. Only time will tell but meanwhile, how can it be right to destroy the man? It's happening regularly now, this trial by media and hearsay and surely we know it's wrong? Nobody even waits for the police to do their proper investigations.
No the media didn't do it to Schofield he did it to himself by lying through his teeth to his Bosses... about having S.ex with a young male runner on the show....then lying to his wife and family, and his co-host about the fact he'd been having a Homosexual relationship..Good points Rose. The media did the same thing to Philip Schofiled. Ended his career and he'd broken no laws.
Russell is not being demonised any more than is his just desserts. He's a nasty human being even without these accusations...I suspect Russel played it loose when he was in his "God mode" years ago. We have seen many high profile public figures hit by allegations of wrong doing. Nothing new at all. I feel like most of them have some pretty nasty skeletons in their closets. they will continue to be under scrutiny in our age of media attention to sensationalism. Many of the accusers also get their 15 minutes of fame. I am not saying that the allegations brought against Brand should be dismissed and justice should be carried out. But, to demonize and demonetize them is not justice. These companies have ruined his livelihood. Maybe he can sue them. I doubt that would work though. They have tons more power/money than he does. So we are witnessing another "witch" burning.

Brand still has a presence on Rumble, a video site popular with some conservatives and far-right groups, where his channel has 1.4 million followers. He also has 11.2 million followers on X, formerly known as Twitter, and 3.8 million on Instagram. there is something about his message that is very important to many people. One may not like him personally ( I can't take watching him for long ), but this action by big media shows who is in control of the public dialogue. They have censored his message not his errant behavior years ago.Russell is not being demonised any more than is his just desserts. He's a nasty human being even without these accusations...
yes and some say he carefully accrued those followers, from 2017 when he knew this all was likely to be revealed...Brand still has a presence on Rumble, a video site popular with some conservatives and far-right groups, where his channel has 1.4 million followers. Actually one of the women DID make a complaint to the police at the time, and the police didn't carry out any investigation, which is how the police tend to treat every woman who makes a complaint of s..exual nature.. only less than 5 % of complaints ever reach court, which is why so few women DO complain..Just read about the woman at the radio station who says Brand exposed himself to her in a bathroom.
She was surprised nothing was ever done. Well, she never made any complaint.
I agree. What scares me here is how quickly this man was destroyed based on allegations? I don't love Russell Brand and I don't hate him but this makes me afraid for the rest of us. There are no charges that I have heard of. He should be innocent until proven guilty. Shouldn't we all be? That's democracy. What has happened to Russell is totalitarianism.YouTube cuts off Russell Brand's ad revenues after sexual assault allegations
LONDON, Sept 19 (Reuters) - YouTube said on Tuesday it had blocked Russell Brand from making money from his online channel after the British actor and comedian was accused of a string of sexual assaults.
Brand, once one of Britain's most high-profile comedians and broadcasters, said on Saturday he had never had non-consensual sex.
That came as the Sunday Times newspaper and Channel 4 TV's documentary show "Dispatches" reported that four women had accused the 48-year-old of sexual assaults, including a rape, between 2006 and 2013.
The allegations about Brand have sent shockwaves through the British media and dominated coverage since they emerged on Saturday.
The BBC said on Tuesday it had removed some shows featuring Brand from its iPlayer and Sounds platforms after deciding that some past television and radio content "now falls below public expectations".
Caroline Dinenage, chair of parliament's Culture, Media and Sport Committee, said she had written to the BBC plus broadcasters Channel 4 and GBNews, as well as tech firm TikTok regarding the allegations.
London police said on Monday they had received an allegation of sexual assault dating from 2003.
Brand, the former husband of U.S. singer Katy Perry, has repositioned himself in recent years to build a more than 6 million-strong following to his YouTube channel.
Recent videos included an interview with the former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and discussions on everything from COVID to UFOs, censorship and wellbeing.
YouTube, owned by Google parent Alphabet Inc (GOOGL.O), said it had suspended monetisation on Brand's channel after he violated its creator responsibility policy.
"If a creator's off-platform behaviour harms our users, employees or ecosystem, we take action to protect the community," a YouTube spokesperson said.
TikTok was asked by parliamentary committee chair Dinenage whether Brand was still able to monetise his Tiktok posts. She also asked for time-scale and progress reports from the BBC and Channel 4 about their investigations into Brand.
Brand issued a video message on social media on Saturday to deny the "very serious criminal allegations" hours before they were published.
"These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies. And as I've written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous," Brand said.
"Now, during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual," added the comedian, known for his flamboyant style and appearance.
Live shows planned by Brand have also been cancelled since the allegations were splashed across the media.

I think that demonizing and demonetizing Brand is outrageous. He hasn't been found guilty of anything. These heavy weight media industries don't want him bad mouthing and questioning them. He exposes how power/big money is taking over our society. THAT is why this has happened so quickly.
I am not fond of those type of people either. Morality has gone to pot!He is busy fore-warning and denying whatever is coming, so it must be bad.
Personally I loathe the man. Along with Jonathan Ross his conduct towards the lovely Andrew Sachs, involving his grand-daughter , was simply disgraceful a few years ago. That indicates his character.
I am probably unfair, but some people I just don't like, they appear to have few morals, lots of arrogance and deficiency of values. It then is no surprise when things catch up with them.
so how does a woman prove she was raped ..historically... several women... 9 thus far in fact.... how do they do that ?.. and then if they can't then he gets away with it ...I don't think so !!I agree. Beautifully expressed @chic, this stuff is exactly why I love you!I agree. What scares me here is how quickly this man was destroyed based on allegations? Well, evidence is required - for justice both ways. Otherwise hearsay will put men in prison everywhere. Women do cry rape sometimes.so how does a woman prove she was raped ..historically... several women... 9 thus far in fact.... how do they do that ?.. and then if they can't then he gets away with it ...I don't think so !!
That's bad.Actually one of the women DID make a complaint to the police at the time, and the police didn't carry out any investigation, which is how the police tend to treat every woman who makes a complaint of s..exual nature.. only less than 5 % of complaints ever reach court, which is why so few women DO complain..
I'm not defending RUSSELL but anyone who is accused but not charged with anything. Isn't our system of justice based on the premise that a person is innocent until proven guilty? I cannot answer your question because I don't know how nine women could prove that they had been raped. Usually rape kits are used. But if LE did not investigate what can we prove? I don't think a person can be charged based on something similar to hearsay. I'm not a lawyer but any DA worth anything would feel the case lacks hard evidence.so how does a woman prove she was raped ..historically... several women... 9 thus far in fact.... how do they do that ?.. and then if they can't then he gets away with it ...I don't think so !!
