A tree growing in the rain gutter

I can't reach it with the equipment or tools (it's about 20 feet up) I have and to pay someone $200 just to pull it out seems excessive. Looks like it's growing right where the downspout is.

Mother nature certainly is an earnest lassy. She grows weeds profusely in my garden on any inch of open ground. She keeps me very busy all year. What would we do without her? Maybe let the tree grow a bit more until who removes it can transplant it somewhere where it can be enjoyed.

Yeah my son came and cleaned mine. They had four inches of stuff in them and were growing all kinds of plants. He stopped by and asked if I needed anything done. I had to hold the ladder steady for him while he was up there. If he hadn't come by they would have stuff growing in them for another 5 years because there is no way I was going to hire someone to clean them. Gutters are a pain.

When he's done there, send him up here.

At my former house, I could get out on the downstairs porch roofs from an upstairs window to clean the gutters since they were only on the porch roofs. That were a lot of big maples around which made it necessary. When I had the roof put on my new house, the roofer said he's do a gutter inspection. When he was done I asked how the gutters were. He looked puzzled for a moment than said, 'Yeah, okay." He didn't seem assertive in his reply so I wonder if he really did one.

I bet he didn't.

Maybe get yourself something like this....or just a long-handled grabber or hook.

The only way a seed can germinate and sprout is if the gutters plugged up with accumulated gunk. There are devices available so you can scrape clean your gutters from the ground, I've also seen leaf blower attachments for gutter cleaning.

Blocked gutters cause bigger problems, roof issues, facia board issues, foundation issues, even water in the basement issues. If you can't figure out how to clean them yourself pay someone to do it. It's a job that needs doing.

A hose can spray along way if you have the right nozzle but your right NOT to get on a ladder just is not worth it, what about a neighbors teen age boy, they are always glad to make a few bucks but you have to watch kids most of the time.

I might ask a neighbor to come over and hold the ladder so it doesn't tip. With wobbly me, I don't feel confident going up a top-heavy step ladder more than 2 steps. If I ask an uninsured person to do it and he falls over, I'm liable. That happened to a cousin, but at least it was on his mother's property.

$200 would be money well spent and could save many times that in avoided repair costs, but wait till the leaves are off the trees.

Pls don't try to diy, even w help.
your right please don't even try it! Better safe than sorry!
