What have you bought recently?

@Jules "Imo, almost everything should be sealed, especially food." I agree. I hate it when I buy ice cream that doesn't have a seal but an easy open container. I wish Price Rite would start putting seals on their containers. People doing disgusting things to ice cream a couple of years ago, really made me aware of the need. And I thought after so much was publicized about it, companies would take that extra step.
I didn't know any ice creams were sold in unsealed containers, especially after those shenanigans. I only eat non-dairy ice cream, mostly from Trader Joe's, and they're always sealed.

Your reminder about those gross people who thought they were amusing causes me to rethink my position about being ok with unsealed fresh bread...

Yep, my son would totally understand. He just bought Adam Audio T7 (studio monitor) speakers with the T-10 subwoofer, a few months ago. He got them because the ones he had weren't sounding right, most notably during our studio sessions.

The ice cream I buy in tubs always has a vacuum seal and then the top which is clipped, so you need to break the seal to open it..

You're going to eat pizza in your new bathing suit.
Sounds unconventional, but I love it. You go girl.
No, you're mistaken. I am certain that she's planning to cook it, while in her new bathing suit, not eat it that way. :):giggle::LOL:

Aren't I right, @StarSong ?:giggle:🤩😁😀
Close, but no cigar. The bathing suit is worn when I'm mixing the dough. After letting it go through a cool rise for 2-3 days, I'll put on my special pizza-making outfit and go to work on the pies and calzones.

Realized my Granddaughter’s birthday is coming up fast. She wants a card, a real one, so I promised her one. She actually saves them. Me, back when I got cards, I tossed all cards in the garbage the day after my birthday. The prices are shocking. There’s the American price and the higher Canadian price. The card I bought was over $10, with tax and there were lots that were much higher.

I thought I had lots of time but forgot the mail doesn’t go out on the weekend and we have two stat holidays in between the date. It’ll be close.

The expensive cards made me remember something. Some brand of ramen noodles is putting out a line of Christmas-wrapped single serving packages and calling it "the inflation fighter." Comes in chicken, beef, or shrimp. "Ho ho ho" I guess.

That's another thing Star....I wish the bread I buy was double wrapped, instead of just with the twist ties. The bread that is costs twice as much and doesn't taste any better. I wound up throwing bread away after getting it home from Shoprite (which requires a car to get to) because it was questionable as to whether someone had opened it, once I got it home and took a better look. Rather than have my son go out of his way (and waste gas) to take it back, I took a hit on that $2.89 and just tossed it.

@Jules...do you have a Dollar Tree near you? They have beautiful cards for $1.25.

My daughter does that... tosses cards out the day after.... she has no sentiment.

Me ?.. I'm like your GD..I keep 'em all.. I mean not Christmas cards from friends and wider family .. but cards from family for birthdays' and Mothers day etc.. all in a box in the loft. They're too expensive now, not just the card but the postage as well, to just chuck out

Wow ... That's ummm ......well, it's, it's quite unique. You are, without question, a fashion plate in a league all it's own. Something tells me that every time I eat pizza from now on, that image is going to flash through my mind.
I would try to imagine what the bathing suit looks like, but I'm quite certain that my mind won't stretch that far.
A Mardi Gras parade has got nothing on you. Kudos.

What have I bought lately , to be totally honest not much apart from food .

However I did buy 2 tickets for visiting 14 private gardens in the area where I live

got tickets for my self and friend who lives in the city suburbs
( Adelaide ) ……Friend is retired dentist but now works/ with a well known large acreage gardener
assisting her with city and suburbs open gardens as well as annual / change of season / landscaping shows.

she decided she’d come up here and check our small by Comparison open gardens.
so we had a wonderful day for our $10 each cost for the tickets 🎟️

And I didn’t even take any photos …….apart from a plant ( in its new home ) I recently sold for $500.…
because it had outgrown its space here …..

What is Monstera Albo?

Monstera Albo is a subspecies of the popular monstera deliciosa. With its white variegation and long striped stems, this plant has become one of the hottest varieties for plant enthusiasts.

I "repurpose" greeting cards of all kinds. Put a single line cross out over my name and the sentiment and write my own. Cross out the signature and sign my own name. It's become quite a family tradition.

When I have a few minutes at a dollar store I'll sometimes buy a quinceanera, bar mitzvah, congrats on your new job, type card specifically so the cross out and rewrite will be even more amusing.

I do the same with gift bags. Cross out the previous from/to and put in my own. Yeah, I could rip off the tag and replace it with a new one, but where's the fun in that?

As long as you're conjuring up a mental image you might as well know that my favorite party apron says, Don't Make Me POISON Your Food.

I didn't spend a cent today. Nope. But tomorrow? After work, DD and I are going to do a cr@pton of Walmarting. It's been weeks since we subjected ourselves to that place, but we both need a lot of things that are just plain too expensive at Kroger even with the employee discount.

Waiting until I pay for whatever at Walmart before I transfer my "extra" money to savings.

You can transfer your extra to my savings if you're scratching around to know where to put them 🤑

That is pretty!

No, no, Fluffy. I know where to put the money; it's just a matter of knowing how much to put there. When I win the lottery, though, I'll share💰
