I wasn't a fan when he ran the first time. I was less of a fan of his opponent. By the second election he had me on board, and I was shocked people turned to Ronald Reagan. They did a number on him with that hostages thing when his political opposition was playing illegal games with both sides in Iran.
Later he went on to do things that only seemed more positive. I threw some money to his causes for a long time.
Oddly (to me) the mass media meme that he was a "monster" as President seems to be gobbled with a spoon by younger people.
