Could be. Maybe I'm supposed to take a day off on a day off. What a novel idea! That's what I'm gonna do. Nothing unless I feel like it.
you gotta listen to your body... take a day off.. rest, enjoy crosswords or a book, or pamper yourself. leave the gardening.... ..I know you enjoy your work for the most part but you've got to take a break.. maybe you need a little holiday.. any chance of getting a couple of days away ?..

@bobcat LOL"making" wood in the rain.

@hollydolly Away? Used up all my vacay time when I had covid. Since I'm not a full-time employee, I don't get much, Anyway,,,, since I don't drive anymore, nowhere I could get to and, truth to tell, I'd really rather be at home and sleep in my own bed.

@jujube 68. That is a cold front in Florida. Get out the long johns!

I'm busily checking out the closet and so far still separating the jeans. Um. Six pairs of size 8 jeans, eight of size 6 and found two pairs of size 4 that I forgot I had. I wear a 4. Why save the 6s and 8s? Because I might gain weight and jeans are expensive.

What more am I gonna find? Shirts and sweaters that I haven't worn in dogs' years?

There might be a visit to Goodwill in my future.

Er. I forgot...there are six pairs of size 4s, not counting 3 of my grubbies. So a total of eight pairs that I can wear in polite society and three for digging in the dirt.

Reckon I have enough jeans?

Just been in the garden pulling up the weeds on the paths... boy it's hot out there . It's 77 deg here but my suntrap of a garden makes it feel hotter...

Got my first delivery, so just one more to go, between 3 & 5pm... ... it's 2.15pm now... Watching new young neighbours moving into a rental property across the road.. got all the parents helping by the looks of it..

I had Covid and, although I am now testing negative, I still feel unwell so, this morning I went for a walk, did some housework and now, I am going to have something to eat and have a rest and hope tomorrow is a better day.

Staying with older granddaughter while her mama takes little sister to an appt. I’m knitting and have got to one of the reducing rows that required a good bit of concentration, so I’m saying it out loud as I do the stitches..”Knit one, Perl one, knit three, CDD…”

Granddaughter looks at me and says, “grandma are you speaking a foreign language?” Yeah, pretty much, sweetie 😊

@bobcat,,,how did the applesauce oatmeal bread turn out?
Did you find the recipe online ?
Well it's OK, but nothing to write home about. I had found the original recipe online, but like everything else I do, I Bobcat it because I guess I'm just too damn independent for my own good. I keep the necessities and add whatever I think I might like. If I screw it up, then I know better next time and I learn something.

For next time, I would cut back a tiny bit on the baking time and maybe add a little moisture with a ripe banana or some blueberries. I like having a little slice of something like that with my morning cup of coffee. I'm an early riser, so it's a little tidbit to munch on till breakfast time rolls around.

I probably should just leave baking to people who know what they're doing, but hey, what's the fun in that right?

Why can't she stay? She'd be good company for you, and a purring cat in your lap lowers blood pressure. Aw, please? Please let her stay. She needs you.

Tried the Minestrone soup recipe that was on CNN awhile ago.
As it calls for 3/4 cups of the various beans, lentils.
Was surprise at how much they added up to, after soaking.

Then adding the celery, carrots onion, potatoes, stewed tomatoes had a large kettle full.
I couldn't resist adding some chopped ham to the pot.

Cooked all of it in the instant pot.
We both agreed to leave out the red pepper & go light on ground pepper, next time I make it.

@bobcat,, thanks for answering my question.

You might want to look at Averie Cooks online recipes.

Found her when I was looking for a zucchini blueberry loaf recipe.
Its very good tasting & simple to make.

Like you I "play around with recipes."
Don't use fresh peaches in the zucchini blueberry recipe.
I do love zucchini bread but never tried making it. I will check out the AC recipe with blueberries, and I'll hold the peaches.

Women always make this stuff look so easy, but I guess that's always the case when you're good at something. I don't know the difference between stirring, mixing, blending, or folding. Seems all the same, but what do I know.

I've got 2 deliveries arriving today...one between 2 & 3pm and the other between 3 & 5pm... it's racing towards 11.30am now./so it would be too much of a rush to go out and get back in time, so I'll leave it today.

The sun is shining...

I've got to get prepared to have no water for a week as from Wednesday while new pipes are laid in my road....I'm presuming they mean none between 8am and 5pm... but still a major inconvenience.

I'll have to fill buckets of water the previous night to be able to flush the toilet the next day ... ..
A whole week!???
Oh, perhaps you mean, no water during the day, but water at night, for that week?

That is still difficult and will require planning, but not as terrible and horrid as I first thought.

IF that is what you meant.:unsure:o_O:unsure::giggle::ROFLMAO:
