Israel Has Declared War after Unprecedented Hamas Attack

So, how are things working out for Israel where they are currently located? There will never, ever be peace in the Middle East, and moving Israel is a logical solution.
Buckeye, you failed to answer my question that you quoted.

How would anyone propose to accomplish that?

More questions ....

Who has the authority to move a country if they don't want to go?
Have you asked Netanyahu how he feels about it?
What about the citizens of Israel? Do they get to vote?
Where would you move Israel to and how would you convince the receiving country to accept 9-10 million people?

I can think of a few more but that's a start.

I'm trying to determine if this is a genuine suggestion or if something I should have gotten went over my head. "Moving" Israel? So by that logic, if Mexico starts bombing the :poop: out of us, we pick up the United States and just mosey up to Canada... the whole country? I'm sooo lost here. I swear if this a joke I missed and I just made a fool of myself, I'm gonna 😿

{shrug} It's just an idea. I've already said where I suggest we move them to (New Mexico), etc. And of course, it would require the full acceptance of the Israelis. It's not a mandate, it's an invitation. Not sure why it has your panties in a knot.

And the logistics would get worked out. Every year, 15 million US households move, with 3 million people moving interstate.

Comparing the situations between the US and Israel is nonsense, and there is no logic to it. Israel is surrounded by people that have, from the beginning, vowed to destroy it. They can stay where they are and be involved in perpetual war, and if that is what they want, then, sure, we can let them. But as a part of that decision, they have to understand that they will forever be subjected to invasions and rockets and attacks on their children.

Or they can move to a safe place where they will can live in peace. Israel has a little under 10 million people, and 25% of those are not Jewish, and may wish to stay behind. I suggested New Mexico, which currently has about 2 million people there. It would not be an overnight process but it is certainly doable, and to me is better than the alternative. Move 2 million out, move 8 million in.

My goodness, you're a scrappy one. And the nonsense was suggesting "moving" a whole country, for the record. And you owe Myrtle an apology for that horrid mysogynic "panties" comment, by the way. Oy. 🙄

This is what I read.....

a statement from black lives matter about the pro hamas tweets from blm chicago - Democratic Underground

.....now maybe you could post a link showing that the BLM support the terrorist acts of Hamas as you posted in post #268
Thank you, Jackie. I will read it.

Ok, I have read it. It was copied from elsewhere and posted in a forum by someone called moonshinegnomie as a copied post from another source.

Democratic Underground has been around for many years and has a reputation of being a far left organization. I'll leave it there.

Actually, I forgot that it was you who made the first suggestion. Thanks for reminding me.

What offended me about it is the idea that the world should decide where Israel can exist. An invitation by a country to move there and freedom to decide to go or not would be different. I don't think they would go but I could be wrong.

They are where they are because of a long list of atrocities committed against them and because their location is part of their ancestral homeland. A lot of Jews live in the US now and some have suffered persecution here. I believe that some Americans at the time thought that more Jews should have been offered a home here. I really need to read more about America's role in what happened in 1948.

Btw, I have been known to get my panties in a twist but it's a lot more dramatic than anything I've said here. No worries.

NPR just played some of their angry phone messages and I almost felt sorry for them. People on both sides are calling them biased. This has upset people all over the world and the news outlets are having to walk on eggshells trying not to offend.

I have noticed that they are calling those against Israel "anti-Semitic," while they haven't called those against Palestine "anti-Islamic." I don't think what's happening right now in that small part of the world is representative of either group and you should be able to criticize their actions without being called a hater of either Jews or Muslims.

Right now, I hate Hamas, but I know plenty of nice Muslims.

Horrific pictures again today .. of Hamas's killings of Babies...

Israel releases images of babies murdered and burned by Hamas

I'm led to understand certain people are hysterical with rage at these links and pictures being shown, clearly Hamas supporters.. supporters of utter evil... ... but then we must show the evidence of evil acts if we're to stamp it out for good..

Western Journal, the original publisher of this article is a right wing conservative publisher...and from the link below....

"Because of negative rulings by fact-checking sites and user trust surveys, Western Journalism was blacklisted by Google and Apple News, and by 2017 its Facebook traffic declined to near zero.[7]"

Britain will send two Navy ships to the Eastern Mediterranean and fly Royal Air Force surveillance planes over Israel in a significant show of military support against Hamas.

Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels RFA Argus and RFA Lyme Bay will be sent to the region to help quell the worsening humanitarian crisis, Downing Street said.

Meanwhile, the RAF is expected to begin patrols from tomorrow, during which they will monitor threats to regional security, including the transfer of weapons to Hamas.

It comes after the US ordered military ships and aircraft to move closer to Israel following Saturday's bloody assault by Hamas terrorists, which has so far seen over 1,200 Israelis killed.

Rishi Sunak has repeated the UK's steadfast support for Israel and the government's 'unequivocal condemnation' of Hamas terrorists.
He said tonight: 'We must be unequivocal in making sure the types of horrific scenes we have seen this week will not be repeated.

'Alongside our allies, the deployment of our world class military will support efforts to ensure regional stability and prevent further escalation.

Britain will 'send spy planes and Royal Navy ships' to back Israel

Jackie, I'm not familiar with Western Journalism but I found it and found an article there that may be the one you are referring to. It's a commentary, not a news story. There's off topic things in it so I won't post the link.

Clearly, Western Journalism is a conservative website. Their article includes both the original post by BLM Chicago and other posts by BLM organizations refuting it. It looks like they covered both sides. People can make up their own mind if they care to.

Thanks for the information you've posted.

I wasn't referring to any one article, only to show that Western Journal is not to be trusted.

And yes I agree, by Western Journal originally posting this garbage, people will make up their minds about who is stirring up division and hate.

Again, I'm not familiar with the website so reading one commentary article doesn't convince me of much of anything. Commentary is opinion, not news. And even within that one opinion article they provided both the original pro-Hamas post and the denials by other representatives of BLM. I realize that the topic here is controversial and there will be disagreement but to me if a writer includes both the original statement and the denials that's an honest effort.

Beyond this item, I think it would do both liberals and conservatives good to read what the other side is saying. Find out what you may be missing because it is very true that some websites leave out facts or even an entire topic, while other websites may make more of something than you think they should. If we read both then we have a better chance of figuring out the truth, IMO.

How absurd. We're staying. It's our homeland too. We've got the guts it takes; your opinion is at least 80 years too late; actually way more than that. Thousands of years. Since diaspora, we've been making our way Home.
