Seeing evil (in another). Is it extra sensory? Can you see evil?

Intuition, 'gut feeling' or sensing vibes is an important survival tool, but is not foolproof.
I agree with you, Nathan. But, in your experience, has it been more that you sensed evil in someone when experience proved it not to be there, or sensed decency or good when it proved not to be there?

If you see evil in someone, your looking in a mirror.
P.D., I'm interested in your viewpoint on this. A guy moved into our neighborhood about 10 years ago. I felt something 'not good' in him right away. Here, neighbors have a live-and-let-live and to-each-his-own attitude. However, a couple of years ago this guy aggressed on another neighbor, a man with property adjacent to ours (a level-headed, fair, decent guy). The 'bad-viber' actually ran at this other man with his truck, shouting out the window "I'll kill ya!" and ran over his foot.

I consider that action (especially in light of details I'm leaving out) to have been completely unjustified, and "not good". Some would apply the word "evil". Others of his known actions, notably nasty ones in relation to young women, have been detestable in my book.

How would you see it?

Well, evil, I believe can be felt, recognized and seen. Recently I was told to apply for some low income housing. The place was close and had a unique building. But something told me "Don't apply, stay away"

Turns out, this place is very questionable regarding safety, care and concern. In fact, one resident was so taken with a caregiver, he'd get her gifts and she was a good friend to him, but this didn't set right with another.

So, he waited till they walked in, shot them both and then went to his own apartment. This wasn't common, but fights and such are as I found out.

At various times. I met people who I surely wanted to punch out. It wasn't rage, but that "They're not really bad evil, but they're mean and selfish" I'd learn later, some beat their wife, kids or animals.

Once, standing with my bil, a pair of Sikh walked by, his dog let off a growl and I was stunned. He said "She knows evil better than most people"

That dog was just a typical mutt, but some I've found, seemed to know bad people just by their existence.

However, animals also act oddly, but there may be a reason, I submit the following video.

I've often heard it said that children and animals can sense when someone is bad or evil. I've seen it work with children.

I have to say that those that I sensed were evil in were in fact evil. I can recall a couple occasions where people who I thought were decent turned out to be in fact evil.

I think most of us have met people who we are wary of. I have. In those relationships when I was close enough to them I reacted with disgust, anger, frustration...basically very uneasy. Those are my feelings and I own them. I do not judge others. I leave that up to them and/or the law. :) I loose it sometimes and have been known to intervene, on rare occasions the situation became physical. I have done things I wish I hadn't. Evil is a word that is too loaded with connotations that arouse the worst in people.

Animals do things that we could label evil, but they do it because they do not know good and evil. The struggles we humans face become subject to rhetoric. Beliefs form and they become guiding principles we live by. We are moral beings because we have to cooperate with each other in order to survive. Personally, I never label anything evil. I deal with my own reactions.

When I was on jury duty, one of us asked the judge, "Must I decide by hard evidence alone, or can I use my feelings?" The judge said, "You must decide that for yourself." And she proceeded to make conclusions about the case, that had no bearing on the facts as I knew them.
And my mother-in-law always said that she had been given "the gift of discernment." She also, and others that I have known have made these conclusions, they were always about judging the intentions of others.
I don't know whether they were correct or not but, like Geezer, I am capable of sizing a person up.

Sometimes but I wouldn't call it extrasensory, I have had the hair on the back of my neck stand up a few times.
I think it's more like being tuned in to their body language, and it goes without saying, that if my pets go feral, I keep my distance.

I can see evil if it's in another person, if they intend to do me harm. I can even see/sense evil in someone behind me who I am obviously not facing. It has saved me from being the victim of crime on at least one occasion. Can you see evil in another person, I mean by this evil intent towards you or others. Would that be an extra sensory gift? I don't really know how to categorize/describe it. Maybe someone can help me with that.

It's not ESP, but I can usually read people right out of the gate and sense if they're off. I learned very early in life to go with my instinct. When I see smoke, I don't wait until the building is on fire to get out.
