There were no deviled eggs, or I would have certainly grabbed one, but there were eggs in the potato salad, so ..... close but no cigar.@caroln mentioned devilled eggs too. I was just going to add them. Several people will bring them and every egg will be devoured. If you don’t have a special dish, serve them on lettuce.
I know the party is over but I’m still hungry.
Yes, I think back in the day, those were called Alice B. Toklas brownies. Never had one, but if it was the only brownie I could find, I may be tempted. He did comment on the brownie suggestion.

Love love love peach cobbler, especially with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on the side paired with a cup of coffee. Ohhhh (rolleyes)...love potlucks, I'd bring potato salad and/or
peach cobbler.
Gawwd that looks so good. I think I was switched at birth. My mind always gravitates to Italian food. If you put pasta, sauce, and cheese with anything, my stomach will throw a fit if it doesn't get some.Baked Ziti

Those would be excellent Alice B Toklas brownies! I've made similar...Yes, I think back in the day, those were called Alice B. Toklas brownies. Never had one, but if it was the only brownie I could find, I may be tempted.
Mmmmm, that looks fabulous. A little fresh grated parmesan on top, and a glass of wine. A perfect meal.I have never been to a POTLUCK dinner but since I am Italian I would make SPAGHETTI and meatballs.

Better idea> Let's all sell our homes, pool our money, buy a huge condo complex somewhere on the coast or Hawaii, move in, and have potlucks every week. We've got some fabulous and talented cooks on S.F., and it would be a grand life. All the suggestions look and sound delicious. Let's have a potluck.
Wonderful job!Got 'er done. Took it to the potluck and got compliments, so kudos to everyone here that helped. It takes a village they say.

Awwww, Grandma used to make this.Gołąbki [ɡɔˈwɔmpki] is the Polish name of a dish popular in cuisines of Central Europe, made from boiled cabbage leaves wrapped around a filling of minced pork or beef, chopped onions, and rice and/or kasza.

Was that cherry dish Cherry Clafoutis, by any chance? It is scrumptious. The last time I made it was a few years ago (see attached), but very simple to make. Oh gosh, I'm DROOLING!You are absolutely right. There was chili there, as well as baked beans, and shepherd's pie too. There was also pumpkin cornbread which was delicious, and my first time for it. Among the desserts was a cherry cobbler type dish with sliced almonds all over the top, and it was awesome. I've decided I like potlucks. It's like the smorgasbords that you hardly see anymore. You could say it's a personally customized dinner.
That looks very much like it, except it had sliced almonds covering the entire top of it. I just assumed it was cobbler, but I have no idea. Was that cherry dish Cherry Clafoutis, by any chance? At my first job out of college I had a coworker who brought baked turkey ziti to all our potlucks, it was awesome.Baked Ziti
Actually, the recipe does include almonds, except they're on the bottom with the fresh cherries. Here's the original recipe. (Instead of milk, I use half and half. I also substitute Amaretto for the almond extract.)That looks very much like it, except it had sliced almonds covering the entire top of it. I just assumed it was cobbler, but I have no idea.
You sure seem to have an extensive knowledge of cooking and baking. I'll bet you would get lots of invitations to those type gatherings.
Generally, baking does take a lot of time and patience. It helps to have a good recipe, too. You know how I got started? My kid sister's Easy Bake Oven! LOLI had Cherry Clafoutis twice in my life. You're so right, it is fabulous!
Baking is beyond me.![]()
What a great tip! What day is the potluck and how many are expected to attend. The rule of thumb for quantity was to make enough for yourself and 8 other people. You don’t have to feed everyone there. There’ll be lots and lots of food.
It’s a potluck. Anything goes.
