A Nice Walk ( with photos )

You tapped into my mind and soul. I'm referring to the pic of the country road above, the pic after the deer.

It looks like a painting I used to have and that painting reminded me of a road hub & me walked in Wisconsin.

I color printed it out and am framing it.

Thank you for your artistry and your mind reading skills. ❤️
Pictures have a way of doing that, don’t they?
My parents used to listen to a program on CFRB called “ Down Memory Lane.” It’s something I poked fun of them about.

Pictures have a way of bringing back positive loving memories that move our heart. It’s nothing short of magical.

PS
After husband died I threw painting out, or should I say left it behind. It hurt too much to look at it. Now I can. Thanks again!
Paint? As in painting pictures?
You paint?
Are you painting again or did I misunderstand all of that. 😅

That looks like a lovely walk with your lovely wife @MarkD. That’s a handsome looking dog you have. It’s looks very Border Collie-ish; the smartest dog breed in the world.

Your wife has beautiful hair. I’m a true fan of naturally uncoloured hair; especially silver. I notice she uses 2 canes. Does she have some type of autoimmune disorder?
It’s great that she’s still getting out and that you can still walk together.

I stopped walking outside for about a week. Now I won’t walk by myself.

This is a new walk my family and I went on.

Each of these photos draws me in and makes me feel I"m there. Love the feel there.

Thank you Peppermint. She is very smart and learns everything fast. As a McNab dog she is mostly Border Collie but there is something else that gives them a harder edge. Of course she had a good teacher, my previous dog Smokey who was a heeler Aussie cross. Here he is looking over her shoulder.

Those are very handsome dogs indeed.
I’d never heard of McNab dog mix before.
It’s border collie & shepherd. What a great blend. Two great breeds, both with different characteristics which would compliment each other. Now I’m interested in the McNab. Do they have the herding instinct of the border collie?

Today we went for a walk and saw this private yacht someone had.

Yes but without the patience to work from a distance with 'the eye' that borders are known for. She comes in extremely low -I doubt a cow could touch her.

I didn't take any pictures on our return to Blake garden for this morning's walk but yesterday was very warm -honestly, over 80!- so I got up before dawn and took Ember to Albany bulb, one of the only places in the Eastbay where one can see sun up. I was so pleasantly cool and yet was gettin too warm by the time we returned to the car. Here are photos from that walk.

Took another walk this morning with my wife and our dog up at the old Blake estate garden in Kensington, California.

The first four are centered in the pool and grotto. This last one is fuzzy because I shot from a distance through the trees toward San Francisco. You may just be able to make out the Transamerica building.

Hi Mark,
The video is really beautiful and the added music 🎶 is nice. The dogs must love it there.
Where I used to live there was a Busch Gardens. It’s a beautiful garden with walking paths for miles. Here a picture of one area.

I notice that you like the green ferns also. They offer such simplistic beauty. That bench looks mighty comfy.

I didn’t walk today. I’m really burnt out. I can’t keep up with all you old people. 😂

I did get there once a few years back and it was lovely especially when we could bring the dog in too. So civilized!

While Smokey would always submit to having his spirit taken by a camera for me, he never felt obliged to make it look like he was having fun.

Lovely photos! I particularly liked your last photo and what you said about him. :)

Definitely better to have company these days. Beautiful country!
I totally agree. Before when I walked alone I’d be accompanied by a large German Shepard.
My little dogs are good at warning but that’s about it. I’ve considered purchasing a trained therapy/ guard dog but at $18,000, I decided against it. My main reason though, is that it’s not fair to the two I have now. When the older of the two goes😕, I’ll consider it then.
Thank you

I’ve been going out for walks again but no longer on my own. I am always escorted which I don’t mind.

A nice sunny day. It’s going up to 19 Celsius today. The sky was so blue.

The river falls sound so lovely. Look lovely too.

Taking a pic of these big rocks and noticed the shadow of my head. Clearly I’m easily amused. My hair makes my head look like a tee pee. Lol

Have a nice day everyone ♥️

That is beautiful country. It is getting cooler here near the San Francisco Bay. But we're still taking walks pretty much every day. Looks like your's may be more rugged.

It’s beautiful but rugged, for sure.
There’s a lot of rock on the island.
Further south in the Annapolis valley is the complete opposite. That’s where the grow some of the best grapes 🍇 to make some of the worlds finest wines. I don’t usually drink, mainly to support my husband. Every once in a while I get a craving for a nice glass of vino. 🍷

It was good to get out. I forced myself back out. Best thing I’ve done in a while.
Take care Mark.

Went back to our favorite San Francisco beach with just the pup this past Wednesday. First couple photos are from the edge of the cliffs we go down with the rest taken on the beach.

Shut up!!!
That is the best ball catching I’ve ever seen!!!
Fabulous photos but that last photo with your dog is stunning. Your dog is in great shape. That was so good. Thanks for the video at the beach.

The island is rugged but a rugged gem at that. Amongst it all there are some really nice trails. What I miss the most is vegetation variety. We had so many more different types of trees and flowers. I still love finding strange unknown vegetation I’ve never seen before.

It’s like being in the depths of the forest. It IS much cooler in the summer time.
