What have you bought recently?

Well. DD and I ran some errands this morning. Went to the post office to mail something and to buy some Forever stamps. The machine was out of order and the line longer than last week, so I put my envelope in the mail slot and left. I've got until January to get the stamps.

Then off to the credit union to put my coins in the counting machine. I keep loose change in a little tea mug with a lid...lots of pennies, nickles and dimes. I figured maybe $2 or so. Nope. $15 and change that I was just gonna leave in my account but decided I'd rather have some real money. DD deposited her boss' paycheck. It's National Credit Union Day, and we got free cookies. Yum.

Then to the dollar store for Pears soap. For some reason, Pears can't be had anywhere else. Hm. Only Neutrogena, which is expensive. I buy 10 bars of Pears at a time because the longer it's kept stored, the longer it lasts. Think the last time I bought it was around 5-6 years ago. It's not a dollar anymore. It's $1.25. Only bought six bars because, really? I'm gonna even live long enough to use them up? LOL.

Starbucks is right across the street from the dollar store so we ended our excursion with Starbucks. Die erste Tasse schmeckt am besten!

Used my newfound wealth from the tea mug to pay for the soap and most of the rest of it to pay for Starbucks. But, hey, it's not like I spent money that I already had. This was what's called "found" money and didn't deplete my checking account by even a penny:)

Whenever I buy a package of bar soap, I open them all right away and store in a container so they can dry out. It really does make them last longer.

@StarSong lead me astray. On my morning walk, I stopped at another store and asked for the price match for a 100 pack of mini chocolate bars. I will eat them; that’s what meant to be done with them. 😊. $11.77 plus tax.

My most recent purchase…..and I’m totally amazed.
Have been getting…..Premium Oral Hygiene Chews…..for my dogs for years.
Where I moved from, I always got them at the vet there.
Tried to order them from the vet here, but said they were something they can’t get, because they don’t use that supplier.
They told me, to try going online at…..myVetstore.ca
Tuesday morning, opened an account, placed my order, said it would be 5-7 business days.
Guess what…….
They were here this morning on Purolator..…WOW.
Got 10 packages, 30 pieces per package…..so…..Micki is good for 10 months now.
Was not looking forward to telling her we are out……because had only 3 days worth left.
Think I may get her dog food that way too…..delivered to my door…..LIFE is GOOD.😉😊😀.

talking of chocolate... I keep all my chocolate in the salad drawer of the fridge.. chocolate is used, and replaced or added to with other chocolate, mostly dark chocolate .. Tonight I decided to clear out the drawer of anything that I didn't really like.. ( gifts from people etc)... and in there I found a bag of chocolate buttons that had a sell by date of March 2016.....now whoever heard of someone who loves chocolate having 7 year old chocolate in the fridge ? :D🍫🍬...

Anyway aside from that I found 2 unopened bars of 70% Ecuadorian dark chocolate my daughter bought for me from the Queens' ( now the Kings') Sandringham Estate when she was there last Christmas

A very good used rototiller. I'd had another one for over 15 years, but the cost required to repair its engine's problems ($500 for parts alone) was depressing. With probable labor charges, total cost would have come up around the price of the much better engineered machine I bought.

I bought the tiller from a mechanic located within 15 minutes of me, a good fella who'd previously done work on a couple of my essential machines. The machine looks & runs like brand new.

What will you planting this winter? :)

Good for you. We had a big troy built. It was like hanging onto a horse!

Winter here shuts down everything outside, snow blankets all. I'd borrowed a rattle-trap tiller from the folks down the hill (the thing had a habit of trying to fall over on its side!). Anyhow, I tilled our larger veggie garden, then planted Austrian field peas in it, as a green-manure cover crop. When winter fades off, we do some seed starts in the house.

I like everything but, my eyes are drawn to the boots. I like the first pair but, I have similar so the chunky ones are a bit different for me. What brand are they? :) (asking for a friend )

The other day I bought a multi-coloured silk blouse. It’s for warm weather but I liked it enough to put it away for a few months.

A Corelle casserole plate for $2 at a thrift store. Looked unused. Will be handy for some larger items I want to do in the microwave.

The best time to buy is out of season. (y)

Just bought a reissue of Brian Eno's The Ship, this time on Vinyl.

Eno has released a lot of music, and his level rarely drops (some of his albums with poetry haven't been for me), but this one is marvelous. It's very evocative, and dark. This reissue comes with "eco packaging", which is interesting to note. But then they do nothing to tell you what that really means, so I guess I'll find out.

The only excuse I have to buy this (the original CD is terrific) is that it's remastered (whatever that means in this context). Mostly though, I was looking for an excuse to find more time to play the music.

That cardigan sure looks cozy warm, to me!

DD has a favorite kind of cookie from our bakery, but since we started packaging them so that the container isn't sealed, she won't buy them. Whenever I have time to make some, I snag a package to buy for her. Well, today they were the last thing baked just before I left so were too hot to package. Instead...I bought two dozen unbaked and brought them home. Just baked a dozen.

OMG! I don't notice the good bakery smells at work, but I certainly did notice the smell of these cookies baking at home. She's gone right now. I may have to bake the other dozen before she gets home just in case I can't control myself and eat them all.

That's what I bought today. Cookies. Oh, and a half gallon of milk. Maybe I should dunk the cookies in milk.
