A woman was mauled and nearly had her arm ripped off by her pet Rottweiler in a terrifying, bloody one-hour ordeal after she fed her pet a THC gummy.

The unidentified pet owner, from Gaylord, Michigan, was left covered in 'extreme' amounts of blood after Blau, who had eaten the cannabis gummy, ripped her off her toilet seat on October 5.

Blau, the three-year-old, 82-pound Rottweiler, attacked his owner and then proceeded to stampede through the house after the woman locked herself in the bedroom. The dog was euthanized as a result of the attack.

She had to be airlifted to hospital because of her wounds - and the victim's father told responding officers that she was going through a bad divorce and the dog was 'very stressed.'

As a result, he had bought the dog some 'gummies' in a bid to mellow him out.

The responders saw 'a lot of blood on the living room carpet' and the hallway had 'an immense amount of blood on the floor and walls,' officer Melissa Fitzgerald noted.

She found the victim was 'laying face up on the bed covered in blood.'

The woman was unable to stand up after her dog attacked her, and there was an extreme amount of blood was on the bed 'as well as the walls and floors.'

Eventually, EMS officers airlifted the woman to Traverse City 60 miles away where she was brought to ICU and underwent emergency surgery.

The victim's sister said that the woman had almost lost her right arm and 'there is not much left of the area between her shoulder and her elbow,' according to the report.

This is truly horrifying. People who own large, powerful dogs capable of inflicting physical harm are assuming a risk to themselves and others that may be triggered at unpredictable times. Admittedly the dog in question was under stress, and was unwisely in essence medicated by their owner.

Ever notice the number of cases involving dogs that appear on Judge Judy? Here’s what she says about ownership of potentially dangerous dogs…

Was 'stressed' after a divorce. Oh puhlease people get divorced all the time. She's a doper with a dog. She decided to experiment on her animal. A known dangerous breed.

She didnt' deserve losing an arm but do stupid things and expect stupid/catastrophic results.

This is 100% down to the people involved though. They have their dog the active ingredient in weed. Dumb.

Quick bit of Googling:

Dogs have more cannabinoid receptors in their brains, which means the effects of cannabis are more dramatic and potentially more toxic when compared to humans. A small amount of cannabis is all it takes to cause toxicity in cats and dogs.

Pets may become wobbly and uncoordinated. They may be hyperactive or sleepy, disoriented, and/or very vocal. Their pupils may dilate, giving them a wild-eyed appearance, and they may drool excessively or vomit. They may also develop urinary incontinence (i.e., urine leakage). In severe cases, tremors, seizures, and coma can result.

I had a Rottweiler that had lived on the streets previously. Lovely, docile girl she was. Sadly missed. :(

One thing that people have to remember with pets in general. They can sense moods, tension, emotions etc. If this person is really that stressed that dog will sense it. Probably just like a human on a drugs the drug will lower the animals impulse control. Animals will try to avoid 'stress' because it indicates danger.

My SIL's teacup chihuahua found some marijuana at her friends house a few months ago & he ate it. He ended up very lethargic & she freaked out & called her vet who told her to give him some honey. I'm not sure what exactly it did, but apparently it helped him recover. For whatever reason, the vet said some dogs are attracted to it & will eat it.

what goes around comes around. I do not feel sorry for these folks that buy pit bulls and other bad dogs. Tell me, what's wrong with a lovely Yorkshire Terrier?

my sister had her face gouged right under her eye by a Yorkshire terrier.

The owner was carrying this handbag dog, and stopped to talk to my sister who was a friend, and the dog lunged for my sisters face, took a big bite out of her face and just missed her eye..

WoW! I didn't know those little guys are that mean. However, given a choice, I'd rather be attached by a crazed Yorky than a crazed pitbull!

According to this study 50% of pet owners use CBD for their pets. 35.12% of vets recommend using CBD for their pets. It is a trend. Without careful understanding of the differences in the effect of CBD compared with THC you could harm your pet ( and others ).

google "CFAH cbd statistics."
CBD has been known to help dogs for years now, for years it's been available at my local pet supply store.

The owner was selfish and careless, THC gummies are a form of cannabis made for humans....not dogs. I'm surprised this abusive owner didn't give the dog vodka to drink. Reminds me of the lowlife who had the pet chimp who she fed valium and red wine all the time, wound up ripping her face off. Can't fix stupid I guess. Don't have a pet if you can't control him, care for him and love him. My heart goes out to the poor animals who end up being euthanized due to careless and inept owner.
