Whenever I read a post like this, since I assume you are speaking from your own experience, it makes me sad that your kids and grandkids and maybe great grandkids are ignorant. Mine are doing just fine, as are those of my two brothers. Why do you think yours turned out so bad?
Well, you know what they say about when you assume.
FYI.....I have a Commercial Architect working in NYC, a Network Systems Developer in the banking industry, and a Graphic Designer working for a major retail company. So, your assumption proves the saying is alive and well.

My view was from various indicators.

1) The ten most educated countries in the world, based on their tertiary education rates and rankings, are South Korea, Canada, Japan, Luxembourg, Ireland, Russia, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Norway. South Korea leads the pack as the most educated country in the world, with a tertiary education rate of 69.29%, securing the top spot. Canada follows closely behind at 66.36%, earning the second position for most educated countries. Japan claims the third spot among the top educated countries, with a tertiary education rate of 64.81%. Luxembourg ranks fourth best educated country, with a rate of 63.12%, while Ireland secures the fifth position at 62.88%.

Russia holds the sixth spot for highest educated country, with a rate of 62.09%, followed by Lithuania at 57.48% in the seventh position. The United Kingdom is the eighth most educated country, with a rate of 57.47%, while the Netherlands claims the ninth spot at 55.60%. Lastly, Norway completes the top ten most educated countries in the world, with a rate of 55.03%.

Among the 35 members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which sponsors the PISA initiative, the U.S. ranked 30th in math and 19th in science. Younger American students fare somewhat better on a similar cross-national assessment, the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study

2) In general, teachers and School Boards are teaching/brainwashing children at a younger. Towns across the country show parents pushing back against the corrupt education establishment.

3) Teacher unions are more political than educational.

4) Children are getting pushed through the grades without the proper education to prepare them for work, economics and social skills.

5) Socialism requires that the government take control of the education system

I could go on and on.
Unlike you, I am not living with blinders on and only looking at my family, but the general population as a whole.

Yeah, in the meantime most who were doctors in Russia are driving medi-vans here in NYC as most cannot qualify here as MDs w/out going back to school. So many Russian cardiologists drive car service until they can afford a hack medallion. Their education is not that good.

Apparently it wasn’t just Hamas who attacked Israel. Research shows nearly 3,000 Palestinians including Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Palestinian civilians poured through the hole in the border wall breached by Hamas and slaughtered Israelis. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad says it has 2 hostages it might be willing to negotiate. So how does one distinguish between Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the murderous Palestinian citizens and all those poor innocent Palestinians people are talking about. ??

Well, I can see I got your panties in a knot. So, whose kids are you talking about, if not yours? Certainly not mine. Ya know, when you make broad, sweeping statements, they are almost always wrong. And all of your "talking points" are just that. Please move to South Korea if that is your idea of a great place.

And yes I'm sure you could "go on and on", since ignorance has no limits.

Have a better day
p.s. - none of this has anything to do with Israel/Hamas. So unless you want to start another thread about this topic, we can be done with this.

Apparently a lot of people knew about the attack on Israel ahead of time. Several news organizations had reporters on the scene of the October 7th attack. Associated Press, Reuters and The NY Times were among them.

There will be big anti-Semitic protest/riots again this weekend, already underway in NYC..

Columbia University is kicking out two pro-‘Palestian‘ groups, I forget the names but it’s in the news.

I am blown away that some seem unaware that American education is struggling on all levels. Google might be your best friend on that topic.

Well, you didn't get anything 'in a knot'. I welcome constructive dialog trying to be civil, but seeing as you lack normal social skills, I'll just leave it at that. Hope you raise your children to have better interaction with people than you do.
And we do agree, we are done. I can only lower myself to a certain level and there are too many nice people on here to subject them to your grade school ranting.
You must be from Hamilton.

So nothing to say about the Israel/Hamas situation? Or are you happy trying your best to insult me? lol - thanks for the laugh.

It has been reported that IDF is now going to allow for a 4 hour lull in the action EVERY DAY. I hope this doesn't come back to bite them in the posterior.

Yesterday, I got into a small discussion about karma. Today, as a Jew I must wonder
The Jews. Is it Karma or Dharma?

It would be karma, right?....when actions effect consequences.

Dharma is more like *the natural order of all things*.
Or *the natural order of the universe*.
Or maybe more like *the laws of the universe*....in principal.

(dharma is a little harder to define)

The news from a lot of independent journalists is that the Israeli military is just about done mopping up in northern Gaza.

They've managed to keep at least 2 major escape corridors open for Palestinian civilians, and it's being reported that tens of thousands have safely escaped, and dozens of Hamas members disguised as civilians were captured trying to escape. They're not too worried about members of Hamas who may have successfully escaped, figuring they can deal with them later.

Hamas was shooting at escaping Palestinian civilians, and Israeli forces shot back.

The IDF reports they destroyed 4 major Hamas headquarters and meeting places (in northern Gaza) and at least 5 of Hamas's top leaders and 4 of their seconds-in-command there.

And now they're moving south.

All good news. Now, IDF needs to take care of the Hamas leaders in Qatar. Or maybe we (the US) should.

Hmmmmmm. Looking for a Final Solution?
Your words chilled me, Pepper. Literally. It has been reported (possibly unconfirmed at this time) that a copy of Mein Kampf (in Arabic) was found in a Hamas hideout... a child's room, possibly in a hospital. The implications are not to be overlooked. If they are using it as a roadmap/manual... well yeah. 🥺 The "stop the war, you're hurting innocent people" protesters have no idea what it would mean to stop at this point.

*****To repeat, though, I haven't heard independent confirmation yet.

Hmmmmmm. Looking for a Final Solution?
It’s impossible to predict human behavior but from the tone of the meeting it sounded like the only thing they all agreed on was to send a joint complaint about Israel to the United Nations.

Perhaps they looked at Gaza and all those American destroyers and aircraft carriers sitting there in the Mediterranean Sea and each decided they didn’t want Israel to declare war on their country?

I've always heard the following two things: History repeats itself - and - Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

One young man interviewed on TV said it's like 1938 all over again & I agree with him. It's not something I thought I would ever see happening in today's day & age. I pray this isn't going to be a repeat & that lessons were learned at the expense of others so many years ago, the victims & soldiers who fought.

Today, we hear of things happening practically in real time instead of days, weeks or months later as was done during WW2.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does it seem that some people/nations are trying to make it out to be the victims fault this happened? There is a lot of condemnation towards a country who was attacked, then defended themselves against the attackers & now are trying to go after those responsible so it comes to a complete end. Hamas needs to be stopped permanently & others like them shown it won't be tolerated in the future no matter where or when. It appears this will not be over anytime soon. I have no wish to see it grow into a bigger conflict leading into another major war, like WW3.

I'm not so sure how much real help there will be from the other countries in the region to hold Hamas/Iran accountable. From everything on the news, it appears no other country wants the refugees in theirs - let alone taking over running of the Gazan strip themselves & setting up a legitimate government for them. As @TabbyAnn said, the Middle Eastern countries are going to send a complaint to the U.N. on Isreal.

Sorry if I am rambling, but just my thoughts today ...

Soon after invading Kiev in Ukraine, Putin realized he'd started a war with the US.

The Middle-East definitely knows that using military force against Israel will start a war with the US.

Nobody wants that.
------------------------------
side note:
Russia actually invaded Ukraine in 2014...in Donetsk, east Ukraine. The US didn't interfere then because the gov't in Donetsk had been put in place by Putin and Russian influence was really heavy in eastern Ukraine.

The people of Donetsk kicked out their Russian gov't in the Revolution of Dignity (aka Maidan Revolution), and other Ukrainian cities did the same. Then Ukraine elected a democratic president (Zelenskyy) in 2019, and Zelenskyy immediately fired all of Putin's "plants" from the Ukrainian Parliament and began an intense campaign against corruption in the Ukrainian gov't.

After Russian politicians were booted out, that's when the US decided to protect Ukraine.

....

As @TabbyAnn said, the Middle Eastern countries are going to send a complaint to the U.N. on Isreal.
(The Vietnam war was in our living-rooms, too.)

That complaint will go nowhere. It's all show...just to let everyone know where they stand.

It'll be interesting to see if the UN officially splits into 2 UNs, one comprised of democratic nations and the other comprised of autocratic nations.
