Israel Has Declared War after Unprecedented Hamas Attack

Yes, that was the first concrete evidence of a shift in support for Israel by the US elite. Now the efforts of the pro-Hamas lobby are bearing more fruit as the US government has begun urging Israel to 'pause' the war. Pressure is being applied by a US Congresswoman who is threatening that Muslims will no longer support leaders who support Israel.
The DC elites are spending billions fighting Islamists overseas and now are going to spend millions of your tax dollars to combat Islamophobia at home, How much more money can America afford to spend on Muslims? It has been almost non-stop since 9/11/2001. First the Twin Towers, then al Qaeda, then ISIS, then Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria, and now Gaza. After looking at all this Muslim mayhem, when are Americans going to stop and ask what’s wrong with the Islamic ideology that is causing all this and why can't the DC elites see it?

Early morning thoughts as I check the news and see the protests to stop bombing Gaza. I seriously don't get it. Why would Hamas be given the opportunity to regroup and come back stronger???

Did the Allies tell the Axis in WWII "sorry, guys, we may harm civilians, we'll stop now" .... mega hundreds of thousands of civilians died in Germany, Japan, and other places. Does anyone stop to think of what would have happened if the Allies had been so weak? "Sorry, Herr Hitler, we'll go home now before anyone else gets hurt."

What kind of wimpy government would want to "play nice" with the atrocities that are happening? If Israel says they'll stop the bombing, it's pretty much guaranteed the response would NOT be "oh, okay buddy, then we'll stop our plan to kill all jews and infidels."

Of course war is hell... who likes it? No one! But "stop, you're killing civilians!!!!" protesters need a serious history lesson. Now... could someone give me a hand down from this soapbox? Sorry for the pre-dawn bubbles.

I have no doubt that pro-Palestinian protests are sprinkled with pro-Hamas individuals. Every protest is disrupted and often turned to violence by radical groups. The Black Lives Matter protests that objected to the modern day lynching of Black Americans were turned violent by the extremist group Proud Boys, who didn't give a damn about Black Americans being murdered by police for no good reason.

A rally in Virginia was connected to a White Supremacist group who marched with tiki torches in Charlottesville chanting JEWS WILL NOT REPLACE US, BLOOD AND SOIL, etc.

Not all at these protests or rallies fall into line with the extremists who take advantage of the publicity and the desire to incite violence and chaos into peaceful activities.

Your placards about Hamas do not represent those who support Palestinian civilians who have been murders and the victims of war crimes for many years.

Anyone can disagree with me, that is their right, I really don't care. I'm not the type to force my opinions on anyone on any subject. You are making a good example of my original points, thank you for your contribution.
It is possible that neither of us understood each other's point to begin with, clearly you did not understand mine. Have a good day.

The supporters of Hamas are now using a slogan that goes "From the river , to the sea, Palestine should be free ". If you actually LOOK at a map of the area, the river in question is the Jordan River, and the sea is the ocean. What this slogan really means is, that Israel would be eliminated, entirely. Wiped out. JimB.

It's quite possible it just hasn't made the news yet. I saw that anyone who is protesting for Palestine (which as @SeaBreeze so aptly pointed out...doesn't mean they are pro-Hamas) will be blacklisted by major corporations that wants lists of those who protested. Land of the not so free in those cases!
Corporations can do what they want. A law firm, and it appears to be mostly law firms, a conservative firm, does not wish to be seen as nothing more but being conservative. Not using conservative in political sense.

They could do that. Not saying they SHOULD do that, but they can do that. They have an appearance to keep up, and clients to satisfy.

Land of the free for someone who chooses to employ someone or not. It's not a government policy. It's capitalism.

A leading cast member of a Continuing Drama ( Ex Soap opera) in the UK (Maureen Lipman) a well know comedian and tv personality in her 70's..had to have personal security accompanying her to the studios yesterday due to threats on her life. Her 'crime' is to be Jewish.....I have never known her to make any comments on the current issues ..altho' I'm sure she has very strong opinions in the confines of her own home.. yet she's been targeted..

I never thought in my lifetime, I would ever see the Jewish people be under such threat again... certainly not less than a 100 years since the last terrible genocides... it sickens me to my core.
Holly, can you more understand now why I have in the past brought up the Holocaust on seemingly unrelated topics? I hope this has broadened your perspective as to why it has consumed the Jewish soul. It never leaves as it never truly left.

This is not a new slogan, it is a statement of their core belief for 1,400 years. And if you say you support Palestinians, then yes you support the destruction of Israel and the death of all Jews and, after that all Christians. You can't have it both ways.

There is a big upsurge in antisemitism in the U.S., including swastika graffiti, etc. in our high schools. And this is a highly urban, "educated" area, in a liberal, blue state. But it seems the hate-filled idiots are everywhere, and pop up out of their holes whenever they see an opportunity.

That's why when I see the girls in hajibs cursing out the current situation, I think they are allowed to flourish here, but just try expressing yourself freely in the country of your ancestors and see what happens. She'll end up dead or in jail, that's what.

If you wondered who groomed all those people who've popped up to support Hamas in the United States, read the research article below. The first paragraph of the research article published by George Washington University’s Program on Extremism which has been designated a Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence, is posted below. You can read the entire article at the link below;

https://extremism.gwu.edu/sites/g/files/zaxdzs5746/files/2023-10/the-hamas-network-in-america.pdf

"Hamas supporters have long operated in the United States. Internal Hamas documents and FBI wiretaps introduced as evidence in various federal criminal cases clearly show the existence of a nationwide Hamas network engaged in fundraising, lobbying, education and propaganda dissemination dating back to the 1980s. The network formalized its existence in 1988, when it created the Palestine Committee in the US. The Committee’s goals included “increasing the financial and the moral support for Hamas,”

Conditions in the Gaza Strip have long been dire, with the territory referred to by some as the world's 'largest open air prison'.

Even before the outbreak of war in the wake of Hamas's October 7 terror attack on Israel, half of Palestinians living in Gaza depended on food supplied by the United Nations.

Those conditions have deteriorated over the last month, as Israel continues its bombardment of the 140-square-mile Strip in its mission to destroy the Hamas terror group.

But as the territory's 2.3million people suffer, several hundred millionaires are registered in the coastal Strip.

And while the majority of citizens in the densely populated territory - which is a quarter of the size of Greater London - languish in poverty, a select few live in marble-floored mansions and luxury hotels.

According to the Embassy of Israel in the US, three of Hamas's most senior leaders - Mousa Abu Marzouk, Khaled Mashal and Ismail Haniyeh - have net worths of more than $3billion each. The embassy also claims that Hamas's annual turnover is $1billion and suggests the group is second only to ISIS as the world's richest terror group.

In the years since taking control, the group's leaders have profited off the misery of the Gazan people.

In a video, the Embassy of Israel in the US accused the group of using its funds for building tunnels and arming its fighters rather than building vital infrastructure such as wells and water treatment.

A study from 2021 suggested that about one-quarter of disease spread in the territory is caused by water pollution, and 12 per cent of deaths of young children are due to infections related to contaminated water.

'While Gazans are deprived of basic needs, Hamas uses aid and funds to line their own pockets,' the embassy said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Israel has also said Hamas continues to attack across the border without building civilian bomb shelters, knowing the Israeli military will retaliate.

Instead, Israel says Hamas's leadership hoards its wealth, uses Palestinians as human shields and allows the population it claims to govern go hungry.

According to German news outlet Bild, there are four Hamas officials who have grown particularly wealthy over the years - the trio of Abu Marzouk, Khaled Mashal and Ismail Haniyeh - as well as a fourth named Younis Qafisheh.

Then why isn't the IDF dropping drone bombs on their mansions? Well, I know why. All of Islam would join the cause.

This was on the news earlier today & I found this article out of Indianapolis where it happened. Very sad & disturbing what happened.

The female driver was arrested & admitted she drove into the building on purpose she thought it was a Jewish school. However, the group this building belongs to has been designated at a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center. More details are in the article.

Hamas Leaders to NY Times: No Interest in Helping Palestinians in Gaza, Want ‘Permanent’ War Against Israel

Hamas leaders told the New York Times on Wednesday that they had no interest in governing Gaza and instead wanted to create a “permanent” state of war against Israel that, in their minds, would mobilize Arab support and keep the Palestinian cause alive.

It was necessary to “change the entire equation and not just have a clash,” Khalil al-Hayya, a member of Hamas’s top leadership body, told The New York Times in Doha, Qatar. “We succeeded in putting the Palestinian issue back on the table, and now no one in the region is experiencing calm.”

“I hope that the state of war with Israel will become permanent on all the borders, and that the Arab world will stand with us,” Taher El-Nounou, a Hamas media adviser, told The Times.

“This battle was not because we wanted fuel or laborers,” he added. “It did not seek to improve the situation in Gaza. This battle is to completely overthrow the situation.”

The Times presented several Hamas complaints about Israel in euphemistic terms, as if they were accurate or legitimate. For example, it describes Jews trying to pray on the Temple Mount as “Jews openly praying at a contested site customarily reserved for Muslims,” without mentioning that it is also the holiest site in Judaism. The Times also cites “the Israeli police storming the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem,” without noting that they only did so because Hamas and other groups stockpiled weapons there.

^^^ Hamas does not seek nor want any sort of peaceful resolution to the situation in the region.
Their only goal is complete annihilation of Israel. They will not stop until they are stopped.
Israel can't care about the haters, protesters and politics. This is about survival.
I support ANY and ALL retaliation Israel pursues to protect themselves from these terrorists.

I Agree, Hamas needs to be eradicated!

And thus we have the New York Times.

I'm not taking side in this appalling conflict. I am old enough to have witnessed much conflict and war between Israel and other ME countries over many decades. All too often I have seen the results of dispossession and terrorism. I have also seen the resolve of the Israelis to defend their land and its people.

The link below is to an article that matches some of my thinking which in a nutshell is a question - what was the HAMAS leadership hoping to achieve when they ordered the incursion into Israel to murder, rape and kidnap Israeli civilians? Did they not understand the consequences?

I think they did understand and I think civilian deaths were part of the plan. I also think they underestimated the resolve of the IDF to destroy them once and for all time.

The article was informative and your question was pertinent. I've had a similar question for years. Israel withdrew occupation of Gaza in 2005 and left the country to the Gazans. They could have developed it into anything they wanted. Instead little Gaza boys threw rocks at Israeli soldiers guarding the border and grown Gaza men continually fired rockets into Israel. For years I wondered “What are they thinking?”

The article showed a large number of Palestinian civilians poured through the opening in the border wall breached by Hamas and started slaughtering Israelis just for the pleasure of slaughtering. This should discourage those people who talk about those poor innocent Palestinian civilians.
